As far as putting complete trust in the govt when it comes to covid, dont forget that they couldn't find the guy flying a human size drone around lax. The fight will be over when mother nature says it is.

Well, they had full capacity seating at the Maple Leafs home opener tonight, 30,000 masked double vaxxed people. Ontario reported 306 infections today. I am curious if this was an experiment of sorts, to see if there is a blip in the numbers a week later. No other place is allowed to operate at full capacity. Sit down restaurants must space tables 2 metres (6.5').apart. We beat the Canadians 2-1.

I catch myself doing this all the time, not consciously, but just because I don't think to remove it. I've basically been wearing some type of protective gear over, on, around or near my face my entire life thanks to my hobbies I "forget" I have a mask on.

Actually it isn't. This is not the first mandatory vaccine in the US, it dates all the way back to Washington and his troops. The reaction has always been pretty much the same as well, some percentage have protested against it.

The difference this time is it has become more political, like everything else these days.

Yep, and there is nearly 200 years of legal precedent of vaccine mandates for the public.

https://daily.jstor.org/what-makes-v...andates-legal/

Historically, the Supreme Court has held that forgoing vaccines is a threat to public health and therefore beyond the bounds of liberty.

Just like every antivax argument so far, it's willfully ignorant at best, intentionally dishonest at worst.

What was the timeline on these "historical mandates" from the virus discovery, vaccine testing/trials starting, full vaccine approval, and then vaccine mandate?

I realize technologies have improved, and we allocated a lot of resources to this. So the timeline could be sped up drastically, which was an amazing feat that was accomplished. but one thing money/technology cant substitute for is time.

So I am curious how the timelines of those mandates vs this compare.

Sending that message to this many people in 1500AD would have taken months/years to write down copies, find a courier, and then have the copies distributed.

1800 you could print and distribute it through the mail with enough money, but you still had to have a press and get it set up, and then operate it manually.

1950 you could broadcast a message via radio, send it via telephone, or print and mail, but you still had to go through some extra steps once you compose the message.

Now you simply press on your pocket communications device a bunch and hit send.

TLDR, Technology and money definitely substitutes for time.

but.. that's not how we've always done things. You're probably too old to remember needing to show a copy of your immunization record to go to school.

There's a baseline of vaccinations required for pretty much any public school (I suppose private schools may not have that, but I haven't looked into it).

When storks delivered babies, did they come pre-vaccinated, or was that something the parents had to do?

And I remember that people had a lot more faith in the government and their agendas not to say that the gov was any less corrupt. So just because there's some new, rushed through vax and the gov says it's safe we're supposed to just blindly inject it even though there is plenty of evidence to the potential dangers? Only time will tell.

Modern times we have a lot more info available through countless avenues so we are able to make more informed personal decisions. In the long run a lot of us may change our minds however for now we'll just observe.
