I purchased my vehicle April 2012. Had no issues copying my Rom to the OFT, downloading the applicable Stg 1 tune to my computer, then tablet and then flashing my ECU. Am I missing something here?

Brain fart yesterday. My car was purchased June 2012. Does that change the answer to the original question on the ECU being a plug and play? Thanks

I have been reading up on OFT a little bit. One question though, is there any difference using oft whether my car is auto or manual?

Yes. You will probably be on 700c so you will need to connect to a computer to get files. It is still easy.

If my CAL ends in A00C should I be running the A00C or is A001 better still?

Only different is the tune - make sure you load the AT tune for your car instead of the MT tune. Tunes are released to support both.
