Based on my quick google-fu, your oil is a group 3 oil. Try something like Motul, Torco, Liqui-moly, or similar, and use the top shelf oil from each respective brand.

We use Motul 300V 5W30 in the summer, and 0W20 in the winter.

soo.. guys who purchased the JRSC.. if you could, would you do it again? would you spend the 5k or so again? or would you use your money for something else (like, a sick gaming rig with dual 980 nvidia cards to play the witcher 3 maxed out at 2560x1440? lol)

haha, i'm a pretty hardcore gamer. well... less now than I used to be. My current computer is running some older HD8xxx series crossfire'd on a 27" 2560x1440 res screen. No regrets! you still have to rev the engine up to get power out of it though. Now my next purchase is piecing together a new gaming rig. its 2 years old.

Has anyone here experienced the P0018 (P0019) code while using the JRSC kit. Happened to me over the weekend. Disconnected the battery, trying to see if the code will go away. If not, then its a trip to the dealer and I pray they do not make me get frustrated showing them all the documentation there is on this site about this issue.

I'm only playing @ 1680x1050 But its a sacrifice I am willing to make in order to go to the track every month!

This just happened to me (P0016). The first dealer refused to fix the issue under warrant as I had headers! Another dealer was far more accommodating and diagnosed the problem to the ECU. They appeared to follow this service guide to the letter: FA20 ENGINE CONTROL_ SFI SYSTEM_ P0016-P0019_ Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlatio.pdf

Anything that involves spirited cornering? Yes.

If you want a litmus test, check your intake charge pipe after some hard driving. If there's a very fine coat of oil (wipe with a paper towel), then you'll benefit from a catch can. There's absolutely no need for a car that is only used for daily commutes and the occasional spirited onramp.
