Got a SAMCO hose to get rid of my janky sound generator delete and also add some color to the engine bay. Of course, in the pictures the orange matched the braiding on my heater hoses but in real life it does not. (For backstory, the braiding is on one because the strut tower brace rubs it aggressively, and I figured I might as well match the two.)
Planning to just go nuts and get the full SAMCO spread of radiator and heater hoses in this finish because why the hell not. I like color! All red would be too boring. I'm sure this is 110% not most people's cup of tea but obviously since I have a windshield banner I'm not particularly sensitive to that. The quality of the hoses is really good and they are THICK and strong. Had to get a new clamp for the intake end because the stock one was too tight to wiggle over the end with the new hose. Luckily, O'Reilly had my back for like a dollar. Before: (including janky rubber pipe cap on the hose, +10hp) The hose (note really dark neon orange, not exactly what ft86 speedfactory showed in pics, but hey, it'll match the SAMCO heater hoses when I get those so who cares): After, without tool tray reinstalled: (still hadn't gotten the new clamp but I made it to O'Reilly intact )

Stop at Deals Gap on the NC side and take a ride out to Fontana Dam, not far from Deals Gap just off of Route 28. Except for Fontana Village Resort on the NC side not many places to stay until you get to Robbinsville or Bryson City. http://www.fontanavillage.com/ On the TN side there's motels in Townsend, TN, take the Foothills Parkway from Townsend south to Route 129 and turn left to the Dragon. And of course there's plenty of motels and cabins in Gatlinburg, TN. There's also lots of motels and restaurants along Route 129 across from the Mcghee Tyson airport in Alcoa, TN. |

Tried to install the invidia n1 exhaust today. Couldn't even remove a single bolt. Tried wd40, tightening it. Man card revoked. I thought i could do it. I stink.
Talking it to my local mechanic in 30 minutes. |

Good plan you have there; drive up to local mechanic, have a cup of coffee, read a hot rod magazine ....... 30 minutes later, pay $30 ...... drive off, enjoying the sound of your new exhaust ...... Brings to mind, back in the day, crawling under a car (yes, we used to be able to crawl under cars), squirting nuts with kerosene, hitting them with a blow-torch, twisting off half of the rusted nuts. Then, attaching new part of the exhaust (could never afford the whole thing), wrapping the "innie" side with asbestos wrap (little did we know.... ), fire that mother up and patch any leaks with "muffler seal". humfrz |

1. spray the bolts with PB blaster. 2. Consume adult beverage of your choice (responsibly, of course). 3. Loosen bolts with long breaker bar. 4. ???? 5. Profit
