Sold the car, sad day

This is by far the greatest car I have ever owned. I was heartbroken watching it taken away but glad it was bought by a seemingly appreciative and responsible new owner. I will miss this car. I enjoyed it every time I started it up. Never a regret on buying it.

Nah, no Supra. When I get back on my financial feet again I'll go Supra, Tesla or RIVIAN.

Not only that - it is just WRONG!

An electric pickup truck!

* just HOW are you going to look like you have big balls when you climb down off an electric truck?

* the power will be reduced to nothing after you put the giant wheels on it!

* just how are you going to "coal" someone with an electric motor?

It just ain't right -

Or... how annoying will it be to tow cars with one long distances?

My truck is basically a tow vehicle.. 15 years old and 76k miles. I think it'll work great for those "city truckers" that just HAVE to use a big ole truck to drive to work though.

How do the batteries last, a few mates have elec vehicles, their main issues are always battery related, losing the ability to fully charge, like up to 50% over only 3 years.

IIRC one went from a range of 250km down to just over 100km.

Disclaimer: these were mainly micro type cars, the Nissan leaf and the Mitsubishi i- m???

New battery packs are stupidly expensive to replace.

I'm all for elec vehicles, but, how are the batteries holding up in cold weather, we don't really have cold weather here so I have no real experience with that.

Cheers

The published specs say it will have four electric motors putting out a total of 750 HP and 14,000 Nm of torque (10,325 ft lbs). I don't think power for towing would be an issue. It looks to be long enough not to be pushed around by a trailer. The big questions would be whether it weighs enough itself to be stable and how well it brakes. And of course how much the range is diminished with a load.

With all that torque, big tires wouldn't present a problem for the motors either, but I suspect tire size would be pretty limited. The suspension doesn't look like it would lend itself all that well to a lift. It looks like their approach is to armor the bottom with skids and let you slide and bang over obstacles using whatever tires you can get to the ground for traction rather than letting the suspension flex for traction at all four wheels. I bet you'd be limited to the tire sizes shown on their concept vehicles.

If only it weren't so damned ugly. It looks like an old-style Cylon. I bet it says, "By your command!" when you put it in gear.
