As @Tcoat said, you are not alone. Almost 3 years later and I would still absolutely rock them over almost any other tail light. The only aftermarket tail light I'd get is Depo's black-painted OEM-style Zenki tail light simply because I'm not a fan of the chrome, which is the only takeaway from an otherwise awesome design.

To each their own.

I'm with you. If I had to get a 17 I would have to backdate the front end, steering wheel and lights ASAP.

It's like Toyota and Subaru had a deal to make sure that one of the twins had to be less appealing than the other. It was Subaru's turn last time, now it's Toyota's turn.

I literally thought the same thing when I wrecked my Monogram FRS and bought my 86.. however the front end has grown on me.

I plan on swapping the front bumper to the zenki. And whats nice now is that the "fog light" grilles that housed the turn signal/fogs are now useless which means #racecar brake ducts lol As the turn signals are in the headlight now.

Steering wheel ive gotten super use to. I do love the zenki wheel, but its nice seeing that 86 medallion and lotus-esque wheel.

I cant agree with you on that. I've not once ever considered the BRZ. It's so bland like the rest of their designs and fascias. Even the gauge is meh.

Toyota hit the design right on the head. both with the FRS/GT86 and the 86.
Zenki is frowning(AW-11 MR2, Decepticon), Kouki is Angry.. almost snake like/dragon

And imo the Toyota gauge face is the better choice. #whitediallife

I'm with ya. It seems like the only thing I agree with most of the vocal people here is that I love the ft86 platform, because I love the front of the Kouki 86 and I also love the new taillights. I got my BRZ recently and I was going to buy an 86, but I went for the former because of the PP and because of the special edition features (the special edition 86 is nonexistant in soFla).

That said I love both the subie and the 86 and I don't regret my decision in the least. What's actually killing me is whether I debadge my brz or not, I love the clean rear of the 86 but I like to keep things stock so

Eh? The gauge is the same on both now in many of the markets, at least from what I know of non USDM GT86 and the USDM 860. The face is white, but the gauge with the rectangular LCD is also on at least some of the current 86 now.

It's the same with the stock wheels. We prefer them over anything aftermarket or new. The car is a looker

A lot of exterior mods that people do to these cars just ruins them and cheapens them in my opinion. If your going to mod the exterior, atleast do it properly. I see so many on the road that look like riced out civics which is a shame because out of the factory the car looks amazing >__<

I like the first gen tails much better than any other option. Just had them tinted in a dark red and they're perfect. The clear was a bit much IMO.

Congrats on your new BRZ! I assume you have the Inazuma being as you mentioned PP.

If you're wanting to stay true to stock, I believe JDM BRZ do not run the subaru script on the rear. Just the "BRZ" on the right side. food for thought.

On the Scion and Toyota 86. The tachometer is a full white dial.
I have never seen a BRZ have that same layout.

I could not agree more. I stick with OEM+ when it comes to mods.
Or thoughtfully process exterior mods over time. I'm an enthusiast and a car lover.
