Zenki to Kouki.

I wanted to ask you all.

I cannot find any info on this topic. Looking to swap the zenki tailights on to the kouki. Haven't been a fan of the new tails on my 86. Anyone know what it would take or if a connector is needed for the swap? (custom or plug and play)

thanks team.

Wiring is plug and play, but you need new gaskets as they are different

I also like the first generation tail lights more than the 2nd, reminds me of other exotics such as a Dodge Grand Caravan and Dodge Journey

Or you know.. the Toyota 2000GT, Toyota Supra, Toyota MR2.

Minimalism is better sometimes. I fell in love hard for the Zenki when it was in concept.
To each their own.

I don't like the newer tail lights either and got rid of them pretty quick. I like the first generation even less, but I see what you mean. Good thing is you'll be able to sell the 17s for good coin.

Nope. If forced to get a 17 I would be changing them out to the first version before I left the dealer's lot. Hell, I would pay them retail to get them and swap them for me.

They look good on the white, not so good on the others. I like 'em, I park next to a BRZ and compare every day. It's the headlights that suck with the stupid LED's, but I have those off anyway.

Good think is that many parts are interchangeable between the Zenki and Kouki models. This was the initial objective of the designers. Not let the old models to die, but evolve. At least for another generation. It didn't flourish too much for certain reasons, but some of us do it depending on personal tastes or objectives.
