I think you may be on to something here.

Anybody else's CEL/SL come back from the dead recently?
How many miles later???

I also smell coolant burn off now that I can smell things again. But I spilled a little (3 drops)when I added some in CT that first weekend after flash. I was trying to do all I physically could to keep the cel gremlins at bay being so far from my dealer.
I can't tell if I'm smelling things now just because I'm afraid or over reacting or just plain paranoid.
But I still smile when I rev her stinkin ass out!
I think it might just be your imagination. 3 drops of coolant really shouldn't create a distinct enough smell to where you can detect it. But good job keeping an eye out for small things.

Yup; I think I don't have a problem yet but with everything happening to these things I have been paying very careful attention to the car. This is the first time the idle has ever wavered, even the slightest tinny bit.

Picked up my car from the dealership last night. They had a field tech come reflash the ecu. So far she seems to be running like a champ! Much better than its ever run before. No more idle dip and seems like it has more power.. maybe I was just used to limp mode...

...when the engine was warmed up the engine idle was cycling between 800 down to 400 RPM and back. Is this the beginning of another CEL?
Mine just started doing this also but it never gets below 500pm (at least as of now). I'm wondering if that is the reflash catching the drop and correcting it. At least that's what I hope. I've also noticed the tach quickly shoot up to 1000rpm occasionally even though it doesn't sound like the engine is revving with it.

I hope it is just me. The hell I've been through and the decisions ahead of me can make the next 100k in this car my most favorite or worst buy ever. There is nothing worse than not knowing if your daily driver is dependable or not. But I'm going to take it day by day. I'm so close to lemon law in my state so who knows how this will play out.

That's just the thing. The car's ECU wasn't flashed when the first cam gear went out. It's still on original code and hardware (I still have the 810 ECU)

So far for me it's worst buy ever. Engine still isn't right and now needs another new tail light since the replacement is full of condensation again.

I just had my first CEL/Slip ligth exp this AM.

I noticed the lights came on after a brief stop at Mailboxesetc on the way to work.

The car was in limp mode, so I pulled over and turned it off for 5 min.

Started it back up and the lights were gone. Drove the next mile to work. We'll see how the 40mi drive home goes tonight. I really hope that it makes it through next week so I can participate in the Scion to SEMA drive that I've already signed up for...

You should phone Scion and ask if they have tow trucks on standby for this event.
