best double sided tape?

Can anyone recommend the best double sided tape or some similar solution? I have gotten a few used parts from japan that had what looked like some sort of puddy in small circles that i guess they used to hold on panels.

I just picked up my car from the body shop after being hit and the replacement tape they used(my lip kit had tape from factory) doesn't seem to be holding up to nicely. tried heating and painters tape to see if i could save it but seems like its been on to long also they stacked like 3 layers of tape so i guess that probably doesn't help..

I usually use the 3M stuff. I put on my emblems with it and it's held up fine for years now.

Try this stuff, they're available from any auto parts store:

The key issue is to make sure you prep both surfaces before installing. Make sure the surface is free of wax, dirt, and the temperature is warm. You can wipe down the panel with rubbing alcohol to get rid of wax on the paint surface.

This is what I'm using to. I'm just waiting on some 3M adhesion promoter to come in the mail and then I'll start by cleaning both surfaces with isopropyl alcohol followed by the adhesion promoter.

Stuff from the auto store or amazon that @Si_Chris linked. It's grey double sided and has the red plastic that you take off.

I think the downside is it's a little on the thick side but that's the trade off for super sticky. If you use commercial grade for aircraft/VHB then you'd need a razor blade to remove it and it may damage the paint.

I'm installing my rexpeed cf lip today. I'm using screws and 3M VHB double side tape. It's a 3M VHB 4991F acrylic tape. The tape is 2,3 mm thick and spongy, so it adapts very nicely. I have cleaned both surfaces with ipa. Right now i'm applying pressure with 6 car lifters for 12 hours.

Don't feel like doing it. Only reason it was at a body shop is because of an accident that i coulnd't repair my self..If they couldn't install them correctly once, why would I want them to do it again. Plus the 40 minute drive and I would have to drop it off im sure. Id rather save the hastle and do it my self.
