Are there studs or bolt holes underneath? If so then break out the drill.

yes there are. The inside of the trunk is pretty thick tho. If i do that i will have to do some cutting as well i think.
That might be the best way i think. |

Have you asked a shop how much they'd charge to install it? May be cheaper than potentially ruining your trunk and the spoiler!
I'll work on the engine all day, but when it comes to drilling holes into the body, I know I suck at measuring and pay to let someone else measure twice and cut once for me who has insurance behind them. |

A shop should have some clever little devices that screw up into the nut holes. These have a point exposed. Put tape over the mounting area, place the wing carefully in position and exert down presser. If done correctly will transfer marks to the tape. Then drill. Putting double-sided tape will also help with waterproofing and possible vibration.
That large a wing will defiantly need bolts. |

As said above by someone else, I also used tape and I put tape on my spoiler bolts and stuck it on the trunk and then when you lift up to remove the spoiler you can use the tape to see where you need to drill holes. I installed the stock 2013-2015 BRZ spoiler on my FRS and it is quite challenging. Drilling the holes was easy but when I put on the spoiler the bolts came out inside the thick part of the trunk and it was too hard to then screw the nuts on. I then used a big hole driller (3/4 inch) and put two large holes in the inside of my trunk to be able to get the nuts on. However, I didn't really care since I have a trunk liner cover that hides those large holes.
Point is, if you are not somewhat handy with this type of stuff def take it to a shop. Also, I looked up that spoiler on eBay and while I swear by 3m tape, that will most definitely not hold that spoiler as it is too large and there would just be too much leverage. However, you could probably just use 3m tape to attach a low duckbill spoiler and stuff like that. Also, as someone mentioned above, consider using 3m tape also. If you live in a very wet area I would consider having the shop add some touch up paint after they drill holes to prevent them from rusting out, but this is probably a bit overkill in most situations. |

If you have any buddies that have been in factory labor/machining/metal fab for more than a few years they will likely have the skills to figure out what needs to be done. Depending on how much you trust them that might save some money. Just stay away from the "yo yo I got dis" guys.
