I saw this today, and it got me thinking:
![]() Article: http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...ng-around.html Even taller, with adjustable angle? I think being able to change the AOA would be excellent. Last edited by johan; 05-12-2017 at 07:37 PM. |

The other thing I have had on my mind for this spoiler, a gurney flap. Connect it via the posts and the outer screws, if it was a rigid enough material, it should stay in place really nicely.

The issue with being taller, is that the side panels that sit perpendicular to the wings are really kinda small. So the taller you go with the spoiler, the more awkard they look. As a phase 2 I could also produce larger side panels to go with the larger height, similar to the Subaru BRZ Sti Concept. ![]() I also want to make sure it still has the OEM look to it, as if it came from factory. Adjustable angle would be a cool idea - same with the gurney flap. I think I'm gonna just start with the simple extension, get a feel for the process of producing the part and then go from there. These are really good ideas for future variations. |

I was all for this until i saw the render, IMO the wing itself is so thin and skimpy it looks a little funny at the height of some of the other monster wings on the market. Its more suited to be tucked in tight to the body.
I see what your doing, its an easy (cheepish) little thing to customize the wing you were already given. who knows maybe ill change my mind once i see the final products. hope you carry this out! subd |

Not as bad at x2 height
here's what i would do if i was designing this project. Id have some metal bracket type mounts CNC cut, rather then the 3d printed towers. these could be made to be structurally sound for sure, and match the thickness of the wing better. something like this. ![]() |

The challenge with even doing something simple CNC'd out of metal, is that the pylons don't sit flat. So the bottom, where they're attached to the trunk tilt on an angle and the length of them has an S-curve. The mounting points at the top is at another angle. The wing, though it looks like it's completely flat, actually curves. When you sit it on the floor, the sides very slightly curve downwards. Not saying what you want to do isn't possible, just that a flat piece of metal would need to be bent in a precise way to line up with the factory hardware and not have any gaps. Another possibility to increase the height of the wing while keeping it proportional, would be to create larger side winglets that attach to the ends of the wing. |

I'm liking the x2 height.
Everytime I see the word pylon in here though... ![]()

This is great feedback. This mockup uses the straight sketch design. Perhaps the curved or vertical design would suit better given their thinner profile.
