For me anyway it's more about having something functional rather than fake, so even if it could be done without the snorkel part I think it could still work and likely help at least some heat escape, but at a minimum wouldn't be just for aesthetics. |

Designed an intake snorkel like the GR Cup cars. No clue if it fits first gens, *should* fit second gens but haven't had a chance to pull my bumper and triple check my work. It fits the airbox fine anyway, with a bit of weather seal tape.
I designed it to maximize the air intake area into the box while still using thin foam weatherstripping (1/16" thick) and mounting using the OEM grommet. STL here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...9X?usp=sharing ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I only printed the gurney flap to add to the off the shelf vent, but the end result is a bit similar.
![]() It's split into 3 pieces, the outers hold down the center section. ![]() Printed some blanks for the turn signals ![]() I needed a cover for the A/C. ![]()

Recently picked up a Elegoo Neptune 4 Max with the intent to make car parts, I’m still new to the 3D printer world so following this thread for inspiration!

This is definitely the coolest car project I've done yet, IMO. I designed new rear swaybar mounts to correct the rear swaybar geometry when lowered and stiffen the mounts. I sent the design off to be 3D printed in aluminum and they arrived today. The whole process was great, the printer communicated with me the whole time and confirmed some aspects of my design. For example, they 3D printed the threads into the mount so I didn't have to tap the holes. So cool!
![]() ![]() The design ended up being perfect and everything went together smoothly. ![]() This is the stock geometry, you can see how the swaybar isn't perpendicular to the end link or the ground but it's also not centered on the control arm so it can torque the arm. ![]() My design fixes that ![]() ![]()
