Direct answer? Go for it. There really isn't all that much different between moding a car with one transmission vs another for most things.

Spend some seat time simply driving. Work out your priorities like;

do you need it to be a DD and remain reliable?
do you want to impact on warranty if going FI straight away?
do you like the look of the stock car wheels etc?
does it ride like a bucking bronco when driving through shity back roads and is giving you back pain as a result?
do you like the stock sound system?
do you want a sleeper or draw every persons attention?

You can see my own path in my sig. I went the sleeper, reliable and comfortable DD direction.

Babes don't give a crap what type of transmission it is, they care about how a car looks and/or the badge on the hood...

I've noticed babes don't give a shit about this car. I mostly get approached by teenage boys and middle aged men.

Said it before.
Wrong colour.
I get as many comments from females (of all ages) as I do from males.

I've got an 6AT and slapped an edelbrock supercharger on it after owning it for four years. Honestly don't understand the measuring contest between driving auto vs manual, they're both fun af and let's be realistic its a 25,000 200hp car what is everyone arguing about.

Yes I would tune the car I had an OFT before and that was plenty of fun. Got my edelbrock tuned from Bob at Drift office (he's a big fan of the auto as well) and its frickin awesome.

I didn't want to be a flashy old man. (Sorry @soulreapersteve)

That's ok, it saves me from this conversation:

Pretty woman: "I like your car, can you tell me about it?"
Me: "you too" *jumps into car, guns it to get away from awkward conversation, spaghetti flying out of my exhaust*

Meh. I will talk to anybody about anything. Most of the time the comments are restricted to "I looooove that colour" anyway. Probably get the same thing said if it was an orange minivan.

So what, Richard! The kid was lucky enough to have a car bought for him. I'm sure you would have turned it down if your Dad bought you a car. Yeah right. My ass...

You're always bitching at the younger crowd on here. STFU for once!

EDIT: Yes it's worth tuning an AT lol

Yes they do, why do you think Ferrari, McLaren and Lamborghini owners don't get any babes?
They are passing them up for the manual gearbox owning Scion, Nissan and Subaru owners.
