What's your favorite aftermarket hood?

Just getting some feedback on what hood everyone likes.
To be honest, a hubcap just hit my hood from oncoming
Traffic on the highway and it's busted pretty bad.
Instead of making a claim, I just decided to buy a new hood.
Looked around and saw some nice carbon hoods, but I'm
Wondering what hoods you guys like and maybe I
Missed some.

I've heard that the Seibon CF hood is like 6lbs heavier than the OEM aluminum one. So if you're going for light...I'd avoid that :p

Well that's a bummer lol. I'm just looking for a replacement. My hood got damaged pretty bad from the flying hubcap. Can't get it repaired, so I'm just looking for alternative. Any idea how much an oem one is?

I think that's unpainted. You might be able to get a deal on one already paint matched. If you get a CF hood, you'd likely have to get it painted anyway, because an unpainted CF hood would look really stupid on a black BRZ. Black and not-quite-the-same-color-black would clash and look really ghetto.

I cant agree with this at all, black cars with carbon parts look great.

Very true. I was going to get it painted anyways.
Hope the repair shop and can fix my hood.

I could be totally out to lunch since I haven't seen it but I can't imagine the damage would be un-repairable. Difficult and maybe more expensive than a new stock hood possibly though.

dents on an aluminum hood tend to travel and tin can pretty bad, if you don't go to a shop that is familiar with aluminum repairs it can be a mess.

Nope. It looks like you bought cheap parts and couldn't afford to get them painted. Even when you put a $2000 dry carbon hood on a black car, people who don't know exactly what they're looking at (which is 99.9% of the population) think it's just a primered hood you couldn't afford to paint.

Ghetto.

Oddly enough, they look fine on other colors. It's the fact that it's so close to black without quite making it that gives it the appearance of a hack job.

It's a personal preference thing I suppose, but I have never seen a "raw" carbon or black hood that I like on any color, particularly on the 86. If the hood line went all the way down to the crease right below the emblem than maybe, but the line across the hood just makes it meh for me.
@Kojiro if I was going to get an aftermarket hood, I'd probably go with one like the TS-Style Seibon , except I would have it color matched and the vent blades would be black to match the rest of the car's trim.

I personally don't mind the carbon on black, but I know of clear coat quality on those hoods. I was looking at the gt concept hood which was pretty nice. Tomorrow I'll go to the shop and see what they can do.
