Clocks

Hi all! So I'm very interested in swapping out the stock head unit for something a bit more android auto friendly. My other issue is that I don't like the clock below the head unit. I think it looks quite cheap. Has anyone gotten rid of it? Maybe even gotten a bigger head unit to get rid of it or something of the sort? I have a stock 2018 BRZ. Thanks!

There's a bunch. Can pop up some good ones on Amazon with high reviews. I saw this earlier and thought it was pretty neat and inexpensive.

And I love that clock, easiest adjustable clock ever, works like a charm.

I dislike that clock!! Have you seen anyone modify it somehow? I feel like it looks cheap. Especially if the head unit will display time also

Well, one of the digits lost its elements so I had to get a replacement... took me ages to source one as they turned out to be very rare.. I had to replace it to stay "original".

as someone that had a computer mounted in the dash before it was cool(10 years ago now! i'm old...), i'm well past that fad now. too bright at night(inherent to LCD tech, the backlight must be on to offer an acceptable contrast ratio, but then the backlight bleeds through the 'black' and obliterates night vision), and that's 3/4's of the time i'm driving the car...

Yeah, from what I've seen online, there really isn't much to be done there. Very few people have coded on an Arduino and displayed other things such as coolant temperature or some type of reading from OBDII. Also, it's just not a very simple thing to manipulate if you go any other route really. Put some cover over it and then you still have your three buttons left over. You pretty much have to take it apart and design and 3D print something else over it.

I really wanted this when they were first working on it but sadly only works with cars with electronic dual climate controls. They never found a solution for the standard climate controls.

Just remove it. The weight reduction will be the same as gaining .000001 HP!
