The guys in the meaty tire thread should be able to answer that. @Jive Turkey's initial post suggests that the rear will rub on the bumper tab unless you trim it.

yup will rub, so either trim it diagonally to cut the corner off or let your tires trim it for you.

Hey Dan,

I have a 2017 86 that's lowered 1" using TRD springs. Would I have any fitment issues in the front? I saw that the springs used by the BRZ above is lowered .75" in the front.

I've been referencing the flush offset spreadsheet and it says +42 offset at 17x9 will work, but not necessarily with a 1" drop. Any insight? Love the wheels, would love to pick them up.

Thanks in advance for any info, and sorry if this has been asked already. Tried searching but my google-fu is rather weak and my forum searching abilities seem even worse.

EDIT: Think I found a user that has a similar situation. It appears it's a no-go without some camber and/or spacers. Guess it's back to the hunt for wheels again.

That depends on what tire you run, but I doubt a 0.25" difference is going to matter much. Note that the suspension compresses under loads and bumps no matter where your lowering starts out. That is, as the tire moves through its travel, it can rub no matter if the car is at full height or lowered.

Many of our customers run them with a 1" drop.

I don't follow your logic. Camber will tilt the top of the tire in. Spacers will push the tire out. Those are opposite actions. What exactly are you concerned about?

I never had ANY rubbing on my car with 255/40R17 tires. A 245/40R17 is a better choice (since it's closer to the stock tire diameter) and would be an easier fit since it's 10mm narrower.

Ahh, sorry I'm not making sense. It's all rather new to me so I'm learning everything on the fly. I didn't fully understand camber at the time.

I was trying to figure out how to get these wheels flush or near flush on a 1" drop. I was referencing the flush wheel offset chart. It seemed as though with a 48 offset being flush, 42 would be poking out about 6mm.

I guess I was trying to ask how to get these wheels flush or is it impossible? Since it's not possible to increase offset, would it only be possible to have both wheels flush with each other and not the fenders (both poking out 6mm)?

Sorry for the confusion!

They don't really poke out. The fronts are pretty much flush to my eye; the rears are slightly inset.

Just look back through this thread. They fit. If you like the style, price point, and weight, run the wheels.

I do wish the offset was a little lower. I run a about 3.5* camber and needed a 3mm spacer to be comfortable with my wheel clearance.
