Yep. The layout will probably be different.

What would be interesting is the whole headlight assembly and what total package they will offer for the Premium/Limited trims for the BRZ and what I assume would be similar to what the 86 trims were with Base, GT, and Special Edition. I may be assuming if they actually would have different parts for the trims compared to keeping on all trims the Auto-adjusting LED low-beams we saw on the BRZ reveal.
I'm on the side of the Manufacturing discussion where if you keep the same parts even on different trims the cost per part would be cheaper overall rather than having different Manufacturing tooling and components, different assembly processes, and then different packaging to the OEM for the variant based on Assembly Code. Designers are constantly arguing for different variants for the same EC Product so I can only wonder what goes on for R&D for Lighting/Exterior components. Parts that are cheaper to manufacture like bumpers would be easier to have variants than hoods and fender flares due to material and reinforcement as Tcoat mentioned. Not even accounting for hardpoints in structural design for where impact and deflection forces have to be accounted for during collision, where as a bumper simply needs to deform to reduce the impact force transferred into the Engine Bay. But honestly, I can't wait till tomorrow for the Japanese Press Release. Let's see what GR and STI come up with. |

I wonder if they will pull the same trick of making the bumpers slightly different around the headlight to make the headlight shape look a bit different.
