These fittings are nice. Though After messing with the water pump. Not sure the small upper radiator hose fitting is going to work. I think with the hex of the Fitting it will hit the water pump pulley/belt. Won't know until the fittings get here.

Transmission was removed as I don't think I could get them mated while in the car. I also needed to try and find the leak. Bad news... I couldn't find where it has been leaking. Everything looks tight, but fluid is everywhere.

Car still looks good.

Small updates.

Steam Port Vent Set-up. -20an Weld on bungs for radiator, Fittings for expansion tank. I will most likely replace these with AN fittings/hose. But not sure yet.

Pictures of some of the bearings. They all look terrible.

Rods:

Mains:

Edit: May look into oval exhaust to dump the exhaust before the rear tires. 3" is 2.20" tall. Need to get under and measure how tall the frame rail is see if i can tuck it up into it and still have enough clearance underneath.

Part of your answer, he has 5x114 wheels and uses spacers to fit them. With the new hubs he will not need the spacer thus have more room to play with camber as desired.

@Sportsguy83 is correct. I am currently running 10mm conversion spacers and with how wide the wheel/tire is, I rub with almost 3 degrees of negative camber. Getting rid of the 10mm spacer will allow me to dial out the camber and help with tire wear. Though I think I have some toe issues to account for some of the wear. Alignment will be done promptly after everything is done.

I sent Texas Speed a few pictures of the bearings and after an odd conversation they agreed to rebuild it for free. I just have to cover shipping to them. So I am waiting on the storms we are getting right now to clear up so I can build a crate to ship everything in.

Also going forward with my Porsche Brembo conversion if anyone is interested in that. I'll be sure to post it in here. It will be posted in my normal build thread in the members build thread section as well.

Where did you get the 5x114 hubs? It's easier to find wheels in that spec and I would swap in a heartbeat

Good to hear you are getting the engine squared away. They will get more customers with that kind of customer service. Interested in the brake conversion for sure.

Part Shop Max

You need to upgrade the front brakes to something else as the stock front rotors don’t have enough room inside to fit the hub.

I have the rotors. Using off the shelf 336mm rotors from a Volvo. They are 5x108 so the holes needs slightly extended and a hub spacer ring as the factory hub is 58mm while the inside of the rotor is 68mm. I am going to take the hub/rotor in to have the hub ring made while they weld my radiator fitting on and fix my oil pan. Slotting of rotor for studs is not hard. Easily done at home with a dremel or file.

There are two different calipers to use. Early 2000 Boxster S Calipers with a 36mm/40mm piston size or the newer Boxster S Calipers with a 38/38 piston size. The pads are a little larger on the newer caliper and it’s designed a tad bit stiffer. Only issues being the caliper has to be removed to change pads. Being radially mounted, this isn’t a huge issue. Just use studs and nuts on the top.

I have a set ordered and should be here later in the week. I am pretty sure I can completely cover the cost of the Porsche set-up from selling my front STI Brembo set-up. Depending on how weather goes. I’ll get a bracket mocked up ASAP.

OOH They came in:

They were Labeled "Damaged for Parts" and this is all I could find. Everything else moved freely and look extremely good. I imagine this came off a low mileage car. They sell the crossover tube for $35 from the Porsche Dealer.:

Pads are close to same size as STI:

Old vs New Rotor. Not that much larger. I may make brackets to run the STI Rotor. I am seeing that moving Bias rearward is recommended. Using the STI rotor seems to change the bias an acceptable amount.

Well Slight kink in my plan. I was led astray and found out the 08+ STI rear Calipers are 40mm piston instead of 36mm as I have thought. Which means my Bias Calculations are wrong. Did a quick look, and I think around a 355mm rotor is really want I want/need. I can go slightly smaller to get some bias to the rear which seems to be wanted from the track guys. So I am going to try and return my Volvo Rotor and pick up a 370z Rotor.

So after I found the rear calipers I was using had a larger 40mm piston and needed to pick up a new rotor. I scrambled to find my old receipt for the Volvo Rotor. I though I had lost it and was really bummed. Found it in the back seat for some reason.

Got the rotors exchanged and started mocking up.

STI vs 370z Sport

5x114.3 Hubs on with rotor:

Now my Current issue is the +22 offset of the front wheels is going to be too much. I need a slightly lower offset to make them flush, even with dialing out the camber.

My 18" GTX01s are 285/30 Square.

The Black TE37s are a 305.

Will be running the 285/30 R888 this Year. Hopefully stepping up to a 315 Next year. Have to get new wheels with that though.
