ABS/Trac Light On - No ECU Codes?

Hi all,

I got into a little accident last year where another car hit my passenger rear on the track. Small incident and the car was quite low, so damage was minimal. The car hit the rear wheel the hardest, and that broke an arm on the that attached to the subframe ($10 part). So the car needs a new alignment as the toe is way off right now (it's primarily a summer car).

Ever since the accident it's been throwing an ABS and Traction light once it goes above 15 mph. It goes away every time the car turns off, but it come back once the car goes above the speed. I replaced the ABS sensor in the passenger rear, but the lights still come on. There are no fault codes from the OFT.

I'm wondering if it's something related to the toe (e.g., ECU detecting the speed sensors are not agreeing on speed?), and therefore the issue will be fixed by itself after the alignment. However, if that's not the issue, I'm at a loss for how else to fix the issue since I have no fault codes.

Any ideas folks? Thanks much!

No clue. Do abs codes not go through OBD2?

It doesn't. Had some issues with the ABS recently and it wouldn't show up on a regular OBD2 reader, although you should be able to clear it.

You'll need Techstream.

Fuck that’s annoying. What was wrong with yours? I don’t have a clue what’s wrong with mine.

Sorry to hear that. Mine was due to some false positives - the ABS would report on two wheel speed sensors failing although it was actually the battery that was weak.

The Techstream cable and software are easily obtainable, just do a search online.

Generic code readers can only access powertrain systems, you don't need a techstream, but you need a scan tool that has manufacturer level access to go into chassis and restraints, that can range from a 99$ autel maxilink ml609p to "don't worry about the price here's a payment plan and a 1000$ a year subscription for updates" piece of kit that'll even decrypt immo ecus.
