Chevron silenced my crickets

I had to this point, used Shell 91 exclusively since I purchased my car as new. It was roughly two months into ownership when I first noticed the "cricket" sound emanating out from under my hood; and like so many here I learned to live with it.

Last week on the advise of a friend, I switched over to Chevron 91 - no more crickets!

Who knows if it will last (pretty sure I just jinxed myself).

I wish I read this before I filled up! Lol I just put shell in too. Oh well gives me an excuse to go waste some gas

I've been exclusively using Costco Gas... so far only heard minor crickets ONCE... but then it went away and hasn't come back.

Don't understand the engineering aspect to all this? I had them, filled up with Chevron and added STP octane boost and they went dormant. Yesterday I filled with Costco 91 and they returned? Doesn't anybody have the real reason for all these different results. It is just a Bosch fuel pump, they've been around a long time and are considered quality design.

BTW, my neighbor tell me some Fords have the Bosch fuel pumps and have crickets?

Chevron 93 pretty much exclusively for me. I've used BP once and got lower MPG and I've used a local dealer called Gate in Jacksonville FL where I used to live, my kid (36) still does. They always have good quality gas. Crossing fingers, no crickets yet!

I've noticed the same trend - I fill up at one of two gas stations - Chevron near my house or Shell near work. Whenever I use the shell station the crickets are much louder.
