I'll be getting an 03 matrix ecu for the lower vvt engagement/higher redline. Depending on where I end up after the swap is done I may add springs, valves, and retainers for safety, and possibly cams while I'm at it. Just takes $$$ and I'm already spending plenty on this lol. I looked into the oil issues and thought about changing the oil pump or the gears but I'm gonna stick with just oil pressure and temp gauges for now. Again, mainly a budget issue. If I track it more often I will likely invest in a new oil pump. For now I'm just focusing on getting it to work! I'd like for this car to be streetable in a sense that it's reliable, reasonably comfortable, and good fun. I'm not looking to slay at tracks and autocross right now, just to have a good time there and see where my work gets me (and my money XD)

Oil pressure and temp are a good idea yup. I would just enjoy it as is, maybe get a baffled sump. It's honestly really good out of the box. Not a K20, but still great fun. If there are no new cars that I like before electric kills them all off, I'd go crazy on a 2ZZ Elise build just to avoid engine swap hassles. I think it's a good engine.

I kind of have doubts that Ferrea or Supertech stainless valves are much stronger than stock, and I think people have claimed to have broken Ferrea valves before. Inconel, sure, the material is just far stronger at high temp. Titanium retainers sure, there's no downside (as long as they're DLC PVD coated) once you have the head opened up.

If you get a pump, I would grab the plain billet chromoly gears and then send them in for DLC coating. From what I can tell, DLC >>>> TiN for wear resistance.
