yes, that sounds great, and very easy to do with ecutek
You arent getting EXTREME level of boost under 3500 rpm with most of the turbo kit on sale anyway, and there are anyway a lot of ways to combat knock and LSPI
or you can go with a bigger charge and get even more airflow with, if you want, lower boost, at the cost of some lag
I regret everyday to have bought a hks sc instead of a turbo, and when on boost my car drink more fuel than a Ford GT40 of the sixties

As my car is getting older, I am considering my future plans. If I ever bought a gen2 someday and want to boost it, I've asked myself if I would do a SC or turbo. I have more experience with turbocharged vehicles, so I was surprised that I enjoy my supercharger thus far, but I was curious if you find the turbo better or just different than your SC.
Its pretty difficult to explain the feeling (emotionally) of a turbo coming from a sc setup. Before my car didnt feel like it was boosted, it just felt like it had a bigger engine. But now i know very well when the boost comes one and the sounds it make 👌, the spool and the bov, the turbo surge at low boost, nothing can beat that. And its so much cheaper to maintain a turbo setup and the added option for having a boost controller, you can set the boost at what ever value you want.

I am enjoying the car more than i was before.

Hello group. So I am thinking of getting the HKS supercharger, but have a few quick questions about it. First off, I have a 2017 MT BRZ. It has the UEL headers on it running e85 with the OFT. I have upgraded injectors, fuel pump and 4 bar map sensor ready to go when I finally go FI. I wrote HKS about getting their unit with the 17 and they stated that they do not have the tuned version of their supercharger for the 17+ BRZ. Ok, I'm sure there's an answer somewhere on this forum, but there's 71 pages worth. So I'm hoping someone can just update my message. Is there anyone out there that has the 17+ MT BRZ and how did you get the tune for it? Did you take it to a shop? And if so were you able to install the kit and use some sort of OTS tune to get it to the shop? Did you find a tuner and have them email you the tune??? I know I'll need to get the tune done via ECUtek Did you buy the kit and then buy the tune separate?? TIA for any responses. Hoping the group can help a guy out looking to get into the FI world.

Just get the tune-it-yourself kit and then hit up CSG or Delicious for an ECUTek tune

Hello group. Another question here. I currently have a Mishimoto oil cooler installed and the cooler resides by being attached to the crash bar. The way it is supposed to be routed it sits on the right side of the car. I also have a Marsh composites Front spiltter installed that had me remove those supports that cooler would normally sit on.
My question: What did you do with your oil cooler so you could have the space for the inter cooler. I can't really leave oil cooler in front of the inter cooler. It would be using 120 degree air to try and cooler the supercharger air. If you had the mishimoto oil cooler, were you able to place that somewhere else that allowed the hoses to not bend or bind up. Basically I'm just asking where did you put your oil cooler to allow room for the inter cooler.

Looking into this kit in particular (along with the supporting mods of course.)

Do people have the most issues with supercharger failures are on the older models?

I'm planning to get the HKS GT V3 supercharger.

I got an extremely good deal on a brand new one but if reliability is sus, then I will just buy the Jackson Racing supercharger.

i personally use 0w40 or 5w40
try to use the newer SN-PLUS oils for LSPI protection, also oil without sn plus indication, but DEXOS2 should have the lspi protection

I installed the kit about a month ago now with an E85 conversion and I got an ecutek tune through FT86speed, although I believe boostedperformance do all their e tunes.

Running good so far!

I bought my HKS V3 kit 3 years ago on eBay and at the time it had 15000km on it. Since then I have put on a total of 60000km at least. Tuned on the flash editor and running the 93 tune. I’ve never had a problem with my kit or car in general. Some people in this thread seem to have problems which is why I wanted to share my experience. Makes me wonder why my unit has lasted so long. Anyway I love it, no regrets
