Name your tires for your 86, FRS, or BRZ

Hello,

I'm getting some new tires and I have a few in mind but not sure which one to get.

- Bridgestone Potenza S-04 PP
- Bridgestone Potenza RE71R
- Yokohama Advan Neova Ad08r
- Bridgestone Turanza EL400-02 BW (Stock and current tires)

I'm using the stock tires right now and they have a really good grip, but you can feel everything on the road even going over a penny, and when making a sharp corner turn it feels really great. But I want to see if you guys recommend any other tires beside the stock. And if you could post a picture of your tires would be awesome because I want them to look cool on my car too.

I HATE (really do) the Bridgestone Turanza EL400-2's. Had them on a 2011 Camry, 2012 Yaris SE, and the 2015 FR-S. In all cases, they were noisy, thumped over anything, didn't give particularly good directional control (wandered easily), and for an "All Season" radial, were crap in the winter here in New England. I named them "Thumpers".

Solution:
  1. 215/45-17 Michelin Pilot Super Sport or Pilot Sport 4S for summer driving on oem wheels. Named Who-eee!
  2. 205/50-16 Bridgeston Blizzak WS-80 on 16x7" wheels for Winter. Named "Snow Drifting"

You live in Florida so can go with whatever tire you want, but I swear by the high performance Michelins.

Totally dependent on what you want to do with the car and how much grip you want.

they're terrible to balance, they wear quickly, and the restart mpg is too high

don't get me started on parallelogram wheels.

I'd worry about your fender gap before worrying about how cool your tread pattern is

Welcome to the gang, there, asscold -

Since you live in Florida, like has been said, I reckon the kind of tire would depend on how you drive your car.

What type of driving do you do?

I’m planning to give the Falken FK510 a try next.

Currently on Hankook V12 Evo2, great tire as well. Good grip, good control at the limit.

Michelin Primacies are on my backup wheels just because they’re so much fun.
