Just checked CTS-V prices (2016+) and they hold their value incredibly well.
A BMW m5 becomes 15-20kusd cheaper than the Cadillac when used.

The one that holds it's value best is the CTS-V Wagon from GEN2. The manual versions now sell for about the same or more than when they were new on sites like Bring A Trailer.

I've had my eye on this thing for a while. I can't afford one new and I'm afraid I will not even be able to afford one in 5 years. I could be wrong but with ICE on it's way out and manuals being so rare I can't see this thing doing anything but going up in value. Especially if they only sell 250 of them.

I've got a friend who works for Cadi and he said they don't have a manual on the normal CT5-V but do on the normal CT4-V. I'd be willing to go for the CT4-V Blackwing or maybe even the normal CT4-V.

I haven't seen any details on the differential. I'll assume all 4 of them will get a mechanical LSD and not some silly ABS modulated BS.

Cadillac has earned some serious cool points with me with these Blackwings. Going out with a bang while everyone else is on the boring electric bandwagon.

From what I could tell, the 250 number was the preorders, but they do plan to sell more of them through 2022.

From the Blackwing FAQ:

From the Blackwing FAQ:
Okay that is promising. I also just got conformation that the CT4-V has a mechanical LSD. I would assume the other models do too.

For me, the 4 is smaller than I want for a 4door. I'm seriously considering the standard CT5-V as my next car. I really want the 5V-Blackwing but the 5V is really as much or more car than I need on the road. I just hate leaving all that power, and the 6MT, on the table!

Call me strange but leaving the manual on the table is a bigger issue than the power. 668HP is way more power than I would ever need. I wouldn't be able to drive it like I stole it without going to the track. Honestly the regular CT5-V is more power than I would need too... but the manual is a deal breaker for me.

Understood. I go back and forth on the manual, but in the end, it is only a minor thing to me. Frankly, and I've said this before, I've driven manuals for so many 10s of thousands miles on the street that the whole process is "automatic" anyway. It neither adds, nor takes away, anything from the driving experience I can't get from a decent paddle shifting auto in manual mode.

If I were to buy a Blackwing I would get it with the 6MT, but the fact that it isn't available in the 5V doesn't bother me.

I would love the CT4-V blackwing. God bless GM for going out with a bang for ICE engines. To bad I can't afford it and would rather get a C8 LT1 with Z51

That’s why I don’t get why they did not use this engine on the cts-4. Would be much easier to prep for track and have better sound

If I had to guess, I would say it is because it would have been faster than the CT5-V Blackwing. Either that, or it just wouldn't fit to OEM standards.

Doug reviews the BlaAAAAaakWiiing

At least that's how he pronounces it. Seems like a good honest review.

As a general rule, avoid DeMuro.

But the reviews for the CT5-V Blackwing have been AMAZING!

Yea, I so wish I was willing to drop $100K on a car. I'd have my order in already. I just can't pull the trigger on it. I'm sure if you buy a MT one, and put it in a time vault somewhere it will hold it's value as "the last of its kind" but I would have to drive it.....daily....in rather reckless ways.
