I probably spent about 5k autocross travel miles in an STX FRS with the STi mounts in the 2013-2015 era and never noticed them. So that seems like a reasonable option.

I was thinking about replacing my axles instead of rebuilding them.

Is everyone using OEM? They are super expensive. I see there are aftermarket replacements for way cheaper. Just wondering if they will hold up though.

Personally, just buy some used ones off eBay and be ready to change when one goes.

I have 2 - OEM Axles from an 86 that obviously was wrecked or something with 5,000 miles on the axles. Paid $199 for 2.

I just have the tools ready to change onsite.

I had a rattle in my car that was a combination of the header (HKS Equal length) hitting the undertray and the over-pipe hitting the subframe. I was able to loosen the bolts on the over-pipe and push it up a little and tighten the bolts and I am now rattle free! I also "clearanced" the undertray with a smack with the round end of a hammer on the spot that was just touching the header.

How are those endlinks holding up? Been considering whether or not to do adjustable endlinks but have concerns about non-poly bushings in a salty area on a car that sees daily duty

Funny you ask that...... I daily drive mine ( wasn't exactly the original plan lol) , but on bad days i can ride with my wife in our CRV ( we work together) so my car doesn't see alot of bad weather but def some, one bushing froze up (the lower passenger side) but did not appear to be because of salt etc (they were fairly clean) it just seemed to freeze up, Racer x is in the process of sending me a new bushing for free and they were great to work with btw. If i knew i was gonna be driving in tons of salt and snow in say Buffalo, Canada etc. i don't think i would recommend these links..... I think it even says on their site for race use only not street....I am gonna spray mine down with something but not sure what I am gonna use yet, or even just try to cover them. I think the key is just try to keep them clean just like the coilovers hosing them down here and there etc.

I had no issues with Whiteline end links set about as short as they'd go. Ideally you'd cut some off each end of the center section.

The end links on my Karcepts bars have also been quiet so far too, and I DD my car (but not in salt)

Thanks for the info, and sorry about the trouble. I’m not going too low with my coils, so unless I experience a lot of tension or binding I’m just going to stick with the stock endlinks. Shame there’s no adjustable endlinks with poly bushings, that’d be ideal for a car that sees primarily daily use and some autoX on the side.

Has anyone noticed any drastic difference between presumably used (or remanufactured) OEM rear axles and those found on RockAuto (SurTrack/Trakmotive) - https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...O0G6cYNWkIwVUp

Looking for a back-up set to carry around just in-case.

Thanks!

Are the JDM underbody panels legal for STX? I think they are now OEM equipment on the 2017+ 86/BRZ's...can someone confirm?

Thanks!

I have extras, OE pull outs. They were about $50 each when bought with other parts from salvage years.
