I haven't had mine done yet and honestly am scared to have it done, spoke to my longtime friend and lead tech at the Toyota dealer I would use and he said to this point they have done 20 recalls and had 2 failures. I honestly think at this point I am going to sell the turbo kit i have waiting to install and just drive it and if it breaks I will just put something else in the car.

Yep, 2 out of 20 is worse odds than having nothing done -

It depends. Was it the first 2, or number 1 and number 20. It would make a difference.

18,000 FRS and 7,000 BRZs. Approx.

Hmm, didn't realize it was that many, but still not 400,000.

This is where our horrible data set messes with everything. We are seeing fewer and fewer reported failures but is it because nobody is getting it done, the techs are actually getting good at it or the updated instructions have helped?

Ya the other 375,000 cars are not FA20 engines and there are no reports of failures anyplace with them The procedure is radically different and not as intrusive though.

how many actually have broken because they were not fixed though, you say this like you have those numbers. For all we know it may be extremely good odds.

We know of two for sure on here and there was a document that out of the 400,000 cars affected there were 100 known failures. Even with our skewed data, at this point in time, the odds are more in favour of the repair screwing up more than the original issue.

lol.. I figured. No one lives in Watertown by choice. Cheers to ya! We should all get our central NY loaner 4-cyl Camrys together .. first one to reach 60 mph in less than a day or a mile wins. Extra points for staying awake or trying to figure out just what the transmission is attempting to accomplish. @gravitylover , you in?
