I found this website with some recommendations on good driving routes here in CT. What do you guys think of route-37?

37 is a great road, slow in spots with 25 and 35 mph limits but a great ride otherwise. 39 up to Salisbury is cool too from Sherman. I was there yesterday and thought it would be a good place to roll through with a group as long as everybody understands the small town pd's really won't have any patience with a group of speeders. Rt 4 up north would be fun too and a bunch of the smaller roads up in that vicinity would work to complete a nice loop.

So many great roads in NW CT but boy is it a revenue zone for the small towns.
If you want some real giggles head up to northern MA and run Rt 2. Make sure your tire pressures are right, your oil is good, top off your tank in Pittsfield where gas is cheap, turn the nannies off and *Woot* |

Have been seeing a few FRSs and BRZs while commuting to and from work around CT and NY.
Silver BRZ near exit 46 off the Merrit Parkway on Route 59 in between Fairfield and Easton CT during evening hours. WRB BRZ with NY plates at the corner of Franklin St and North St in Stamford CT during early morning hours. Silver FRS with temp plates on Route 104/Long Ridge Rd near the North Stamford CT/NY border during early morning hours. |

I keep passing a silver FRS on Route 104/Long Ridge Rd in North Stamford CT/NY border in the mornings as I am headed south, and on Route 22 in NY in the afternoons as I am headed north. Same car, twice a day, who are you lol.

We were talking about another meet up and a cruise a few pages back. Since the weather is much nicer, we should plan out a route we can cruise on. @gravitylover, any new routes recently discovered we can organize a cruise on? |

Yeah. All over northern CT there are great roads but most of them have pretty low speed limits and are also pretty well covered by a variety of different types of leo's. For the most part the pavement is good (or at least acceptable) and it's really easy for the speed to get away from you especially on the more popular roads. The real back roads are where it's at and some of them are pretty phenomenal.
I need to make some notes on which ones are better and could be workable for a decent sized group. Where should the focus be? Northwest, maybe something northeast of Bristol, what part of the state works best for the most people? |
