Alfa Romeo Giulia GT EV

https://www.blessthisstuff.com/stuff...a-gt-electric/

Quote:
Italian style meets modern technology to create one of the most exciting EV projects around. Totem Automobili, an Italian company that specializes in reviving vintage cars, has converted a classic Alfa to Epower for the first time. The GT Electric is based on the GT Junior, one of the most beautiful cars ever produced, and has been given a carbon fiber body and electric powertrain. Totem changed the proportions, making the car wider and flatter, and redesigned the underside of the car to improve aerodynamics, creating a flat floor with rear air diffusers to generate enhanced downforce. It has a power output of 518 horsepower, a maximum torque of 980 Nm, and can reach 0-62 mph in a mere 3.4 seconds! The 50.4-kilowatt-hour battery built into the floor will charge the 22-kilowatt-hour charger in just over two hours, with a range of around 360 Km (223 Miles). Its maximum speed is 240 km/h (150mph). The beauty also features the McFly sound and vibration emulation system to replicate the sound of the original classic petrol engine Giulia of the 70s. The interior of the GT electric has also been modernized, the round dials behind the retro-style steering wheel are digital, and it features air conditioning, power windows, a Bluetooth infotainment system, keyless entry and even a vintage navigation system are on board. Designed in the original Giulia style, the clamshell seats are tailored to the driver´s physique. Only twenty of these stunning machines will be built, so get out your chequebook fast.

I love it!
But I’d prefer the interior was toned-down a bit. Those cars have great original interiors. They made the EV a little too Spyker-esque for me. But then, I don’t suppose I’m their target audience so there’s that.

There was an interior?

Sticking the gauges up in the front window is a d-canoe move.
Only important notice is the tach. Oh. Don't need one with electric.

Digital speedo in the dash strip and done.

"Even more controversial than the thought of destroying the Alfa to save it, will be the decision to fit speakers that mimic the sounds of an internal combustion engine. Totem says that “thanks to the fusion of gaming and ICE calibration”, the tones of the original four-pot can be replicated in line with a driver’s throttle and control inputs. It adds that engineers can even “use a gear lever selector digitally connected to our controller with the same mechanical feeling of a conventional one”. Pretend changing gears that don't actually exist? How very 2020. "

unfortunately video game sounds of engines sounds terrible and artificial half the time.

Mainly because when it revs up it does NOT sound like the engine is revving, its like they use a base idle sound and distort it with software to make the revving sound.

ITs also why i dislike the trend of "augmented" sounds through speakers....
