That is some serious FOD. Did you figure out what got in your intake and caused the damage?

Holy shit, don't drive that man! Drop your oil and grab a magnet. That wheel is toast, that housing is toast, and there's a good chance some or all of the things between your cold side and exhaust are some sort of toast.

I'm rooting for your cold side piping to have caught it, maybe in some atomized oil or something, but idk, that's a nasty failure. I'd be flushing the intake pipes and IC out and maybe getting a spark plug borescope in there for peace of mind.

Honestly, pretty sure it was an overboost issue. The compressor cover/v-band clamp came loose when I got on it merging onto the interstate. It didn’t move much, but enough to damage the compressor wheel. No other leaks or issues found, so I’m going to replace the turbo. It’s not worth taking a chance of it not happening again.

Over-boost will not cause physical damage to the compressor. Seriously something got loose in your intake and caused that. Had you just done maintenance on the intake?

Maybe I didn’t explain it correctly, I do that sometimes. The compressor cover got loose enough and dropped a little, falling onto the compressor wheel. I hadn’t removed the intake pipe in over 3 years, so I’m pretty sure nothing got into the intake to cause the damage.
