I hope your move goes smoothly.

I thought fuzzy dash covers went out back in the 60s?

However, maybe ol @Tcoat may be interested - he most likely was into stuff like that -

My 70s vans were had fake fur in the back not the front.
Besides the Hakone already had a "fuzzy " dash.

Checked out the apartment and signed the lease.

First time moving in nine years. Crazy.

Need many more words to describe specifics. I'll cop to having been a member of all the deplorable categories as well. Humility FTW.

Screw you. I have never been rude nor pushy and I will make you believe that I don't care if you don't want to.

Hopefully the last important bit to really be stressed about is getting the code to my deadbolt so the movers and I can get in tomorrow, since we'll probably already be there before the leasing office opens at 9am.

Yep, the new apartment comes with one of those fancy, smart locks (Latch).

I don't necessarily mind too much. But I'm waiting on one of the leasing guys to send me a default code to use tomorrow, since I won't have gotten added to the system yet due to only signing the lease today.

This is one of those situations where a traditional key would be great.

In a weird headspace right now.

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer last Friday. Prognosis is fairly positive... nothing in her lymph nodes so they caught it very early. She has always been diligent about getting mammograms regularly. Nothing is guaranteed but all the doctors she has spoken with so far are cautiously optimistic that this is very treatable.

We will know what she is in for surgery & treatment wise in a couple of weeks once she sees the first specialist. Luckily where we live is one of the best places in the country for cancer treatment options.

I'm thankful that I have spent a lot of time with my parents over the past year since we both live alone and needed to try and keep sane during the pandemic. Turns out that was an extremely good decision.

And here I thought 2020 was pretty shit and things couldn't get much worse lol. Keep riding the wave...

Let's see, last time I moved was 1995.

If I ever have to move, I'm just going to burn it down and start over somewhere else.

I've moved around a bunch. Basically from when I was born until when I graduated high school I moved.. 4 times? 6 including moving to the dorm freshman year and then moving to this apartment from there. I realize that's not as many times as some, but basically we moved every 3-5 years.

Best wishes on your mother's recovery. Cancer in any state or form is no joke.
