Got my flex fuel kit installed. Went to grab my laptop to load the new tune and do some logs, but the laptop was dead. So now I'm just waiting for my computer to charge.

1. Installed whiteline stabilizer bar bushings on the front bar. While I had it apart I sanded/wire brushed and painted the subframe brackets.

2. Installed a 949 steering column spacer. Fought a protracted battle with the horn wire. Ultimately made a short jumper wire.

The front end seems more planted - the OEM bushings are surprisingly soft which, I suspect, changes the weight shift dynamics. In another thread a member used the term linear to describe the difference. In a nutshell, that's it. The handling seems more linear - less waiting for the suspension to settle. Worth the time and effort.

The steering spacer has been on my to do list for a couple of years. Finally, bought one and installed it. For the freakishly tall among us it's a revelation. With the stock set up, to get the seat far enough back to fit my legs and reclined enough to accommodate my melon, I'd be stretching my arms to reach the steering wheel. A couple of observations, 1. the added two inches makes the turn signal and wiper stalks noticeably farther away. Not a big deal - big hands usually accompany general largeness. The added distance puts a serious stretch in the horn wire. I battled my for quite a while and ultimately admitted defeat and fabbed a 2" jumper wire. [949 guys - including a short jumper would help those of use with big clumsy mitts] My only issue is the steering wheel is slightly cocked - about 2 to 3 degrees to the left. It's far less than a full spline's worth. It's not a big deal - I'll get it sorted at the next visit to the alignment shop.

I feel like my eyes are deceiving me but did you shave off the 'mustache' of front bumper? It looks interesting. I also noticed the side marker light is in a different place unless it's a reflection. You have any more pics of the front?

No your eyes aren't deceiving you. Yes, my bumper shaved the mustache... along w park lights & replaced the grill mesh. I was gonna do photo on member journal, but winter hit early at my place, so couldn't do good photos. But here are few iphone camera photos.

Front

Side Lights Off

Side Lights On

Some non-automotive fan thinks some coupe Tesla... yes, cuz Tesla make ICE cars

As for the park lights, I got it shaved and installed one of 3 series park lights from eBay (F90 iirc). Bought the smoked version, so in the daily time, it hides it well.

Off

On

Local member say, it looks like next gen BRZ park light... BUT I did it first, so they copied me!

Hope that answer your question

To be fair with that unbroken slab from the hood to the grill it does take on a Tesla/EV like shape.

Wow I've seen people take out the grill but this is unique. You should make a journal. I'm sure that would peak some people's interests on here. Love the gold wheels. Thanks for sharing!

Hello! New on the board! I have owned 2 MKII MR2s over the years and after driving a commuter car for years, I pulled the trigger on a new 2020 BRZ with the PP. The purchase was in July 2020 and just now getting around to the mods - less than 5k on the car, ATM.

I went to 86Speed and bought: a Fujitsubo Authorize R Dual Cat-back Exhaust, Tomei Expreme UEL header, Tomei overpipe, and an ECUtek tune.

Hopefully my goodies come soon. I do not have the room or tools to do the header, front pipe, and exhaust. Does anyone have an estimate for how many hours of shop labor this would be?

Not too concerned about price, just don’t want to get ripped-off. I intend on investing in tools and some other things soon to cut down on shop costs.

Been creeping on here for months and happy to finally have something to say!

Welcome! I estimate it would take a full Saturday for me to do an exhaust like that, so it would be reasonable for a shop to be able to get it done in 4-6 hours depending on how rusted/rotted/seized everything is and if no other parts like gaskets need to be ordered last minute- I highly recommend replacing all the gaskets while pulling it apart to alleviate issues down the road.
