My boy Oreo here has been with me since the beginning of April. The previous owners loved him, but there was a major allergy issue. I'm just happy I found him. He is around 9-10 months old and tomorrow he is having a procedure.

I gotta get a dog. Maybe the cat will stop following me around and carrying a toy with a bell into my room in the middle of the night if he sees competition. Or maybe he'd harass the dog instead. I feel like I'm almost always being watched. It's like having a pet owl with super jumping legs instead of wings. lol

Those are all signs your cat appreciates you and discouraging the behaviors could make the cat feel rejected. I'd just get rid of the bells and enjoy being accepted into the cat's pride.

Nothing wrong with dogs though, cats are just different.

Hopefully in about 20 years. I read that cat and dog house pet's lifespans have just about doubled in the past 60 or so years. This is related to food and veterinary care. Probably also far lower prevalence of stray or wandering animals.

I remember as a kid in the 70's my cousin's beagle short haired terrier mix, collar with tags, would occasionally disappear for days at stretch. Probably picked up by animal control. He still lived pretty long maybe 15ish. And my uncle, his owner turned 100 years old on June1, incidentally. Nice man, great family.
I've never owned a dog, but for some reason I like the look and size of a Shiba Inu (Doge). They cost a few Dogecoins.

I never ignore my cat, he's the baby. Regards to eyes watching, it could be worse.

Everyone I know uses something like this. In an accident I would rather them have nothing at all as opposed to something that attaches to a collar only.

https://www.chewy.com/slowton-car-sa...seat/dp/264104

These are also nice to have as it gives them more room to move around without falling down between the seats.

Ha, more stuff to order from Chewy! I've got like 4 simultaneous orders going now because I keep finding more stuff to get :P

Thanks for the suggestion. Do you think it's better to set up the harness in the rear seat bench and have the cover under it? Because if it's in the passenger seat that cover obviously won't be there. Maybe while it's a puppy it's better in the passenger seat?

I'd always put them in the back seat. I don't know how even a full size dog would handle an air bag.
