Doors won't lock.

I have a 2015 FRS. Last night when I got home I got out of my car and hit the lock on the keys and nothing happened. I kept hitting lock and eventually it locked the doors after about a minute. I was concerned so I started my car, turned it off and got out and tried it again with the same result. I took it to Toyota today and they were looking at it for 2 hours and couldn't figure it out and told me before they try anything else i need to remove my Ca-Fi dashlinq4 head unit. I was hoping someone on here would know the answer before I have to remove it and put the stock back in then bring it in on Monday. Thank you.

try the other key(battery or key), then usually they go backwards. anything changed? (your head unit), and then go from there. check fuses too.

What happens when you press the lock door button on the door and then close it? Does it automatically unlock when the doors close?

I have tried the other key, I have tried putting the OEM head unit in and same thing. I don't think it would be a fuse but I'll check tomorrow.

That works but the problem is I have the Auto headlights and the lights also won't turn off automatically unless i wait the minute, open the door, close it, then hit the lock twice on the keys. Even if I wait the minute and hit lock twice it won't turn them off unless i open and close the door again.

That's odd. My headlights shut off automatically when using the lock button on the inside of the door.

I shut off the car, open the door, hit the lock button on the door panel, close the door. Headlights shut off after 30 seconds. Something isn't right on your car.

Can't see why it would be your head unit, but you never know.

Yeah it's really strange, I can't figure it out, neither can Google...

Well. Unplug the harnesses for your head unit, unplug your battery cable for a bit reconnect the cable, and see if the issue still exists.

Did you start having this issue around when you installed the head unit? I'm still seriously doubting it actually is the head unit. And I'm hoping you've already tried unplugging your battery for a while to reset everything.

Yeah it started about a week after I installed the head unit which is 2 months since I've owned the car. Yes I've tried all of that :/

The weird thing is if I unlock the doors they will still auto lock after 30 seconds, yet the lights don't work on the timer.

I ended up fixing it. Thought if anyone had this problem and saw it might help them. I had the GPS attena over the passangerside speaker, I moved it up to the top of the window and now it works. I have no idea how that could have effected it but it fixed it.
