I've bought a new mechanical gaming keyboard for work when my good old mechanical Microsoft keyboard died during my genius keyboard lubrication project. I can assure you, some of the new mechanical ones can also be used for personal protection alright.

Agh, back when keyboards were keyboards, and could be used as personal protection devices.
We have a room full of them at work. For some reason our IT guy will not throw out a keyboard for any reason. Also have boxes on boxes of the old ball type mouse (mice?) that he just keeps hoarding.

The Model Ms still bring a good price if they are in good working condition. Might be a new revenue source.

As far as the old ball type mice, well, I was very happy to see those go but tech hoarding seems to be an IT affliction. I have to go to our storage warehouse about once a year and declare its time to get rid of all the old equipment that has accumulated. We always seem to have just as many old cables/monitors/etc sitting in the warehouse as we have actually in production.

These keyboards have been used in a plant that machines 4,000,000 cast iron rotors a year. Their life expectancy with the dust is about 90 days. They are never going to be in working order again.

I have cherry mx blues at work, and use browns at home for my gaming pc.

Good thing I have my own office because mx blues and typing ~100WPM is LOUD! But oh so satisfying...

Why on earth do I always get pulled aside at airport security for an extra check?

At least this time only my back right calf feels violated and not my private parts.

1.Stop looking suspicious

2. If you fly often enroll in precheck It is absolutely worth the 85 bucks.

Too bad cherry switches are among the absolute worst feeling switches while being top tier in price usually.

Personal preference I guess. I've tried razer and logitech switches, can't say there was enough difference to me that I could conclude which is the superior switch. There are dozens of other brands still... I would go broke trying them all haha.

I recall paying under $80 for each (on sale), and they are full size layouts. Coolermaster with blues is 7 years old, and my Corsair K70 with browns is 5 years old now and both are still going strong.

Gratz on 5k posts!

Would probably be useful. This will be my 7th flight in the past year.

Mine is Logitech G513. I don't know it's color, but it is silent, and I love it
