Works AB-R Resonated Axle Back Muffler Delete

SOLD

Selling my Works AB-R muffler delete. Technical information can be found in these threads:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24472
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25738

The muffler delete was a bit loud for my tastes so I replaced it. I'm local to the vendor 86_ZN6 and he dropped it off for me around 2/20/13. I've had it installed on my car for a few weeks before I replaced it. Included is the original instructions and unused gasket from Works (I used another gasket). It will bolt on using your OEM bolts. See pics for condition (note the smudges on the tips are just oil smudges, should clean right off - didn't think to clean it before taking pics):

I paid $407 total so I'm asking $300 for a local meetup in the Norcal area (I'm located near San Francisco).

I never got a box or packaging material from 86_ZN6 but if you want it shipped, give me an address and I can try to get a shipping price to get it safely shipped, let me know.

Cleaned up the tips and attached a few more pictures:

There are a couple of videos here so you can get an idea of how it sounds:
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BI5PMHGH1vA"]FRS BRZ Dyno Day! 049 - YouTube[/ame]

A bunch of videos here: http://www.youtube.com/user/YourFavW.../videos?view=0

In terms of loudness, it's really depends on the situation.. on a scale of 1-10..

Stock idle or coasting: 1
Stock Wide Open Throttle: 7.5
Stock slow cruise/casual acceleration up a hill: 3

AB-R idle/coasting: 2
AB-R Wide Open Throttle: 10
AB-R going up a hill: 5

Casually driving, I noticed more of a tone/note change - deeper, more rumbles and burbles. When you gun it past 3k RPM - then you can really tell it's louder than stock. I live next to a family with a newborn 1 y/o, and a retired couple on the other side. I asked them if I was too loud or anything and they said it's no problem but of course I don't rev it when I'm coming home.

This other guy has the same exhaust, I think he feels the same (casual driving is not loud, when you gun it, then it's loud):

As for drone, I didn't really notice anything. It sounds fine cruising at 65-80 mph every day at 8 am and 6pm to and from work - no headaches.

The loudness reason I'm selling is more of a personal taste type of thing. I love hearing the engine gears/intake/sound tube whir-up as I hit 7k RPM. With this exhaust, obviously the exhaust sounds get much louder when gunning it so you can't hear the engine bay sounds as well.

Do you mean raspy like this:
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RT1JRbD6Xak"]2008 Scion tC Exhaust raspy - YouTube[/ame]

Do you have any videos of what you mean?

I actually never noticed anything raspy, the AB-R is fuller and deeper sound than stock throughout the entire RPM range. I think the resonator is supposed eliminate drone, rasp, or any of the unwanted sounds without silencing the exhaust like a muffler.

A couple of the other guys who bought this exhaust said from stock to AB-R, the car's "balls just dropped" which I agree with.

This guy has the AB-M, not the AB-R, but in person it sounds like how he revs it around 45 seconds in:
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELMIQn_Y7Co&feature=player_detailpage#t=45 s"]FR-S Works Axle-Back Exhaust - YouTube[/ame]

The AB-R is a bit more growly but it pretty close to that video.

i was thinking about one of these but depending on how "by the book" the person is doing NYS inspections, i believe you can actually fail for not having a muffler from what I've read

Here in CA, it's technically illegal to run without a muffler but I haven't heard of anybody getting a ticket for it though, kinda like HID kits. This axle back can be pretty loud during spirited driving but the resonator is definitely better than a pure muffler delete though - easier on the ears when cruising and less attention from cops.

When I bought it, I figured that it's only 2 bolts and 4 hangers to slide off to revert back to stock if you ever have an issue with a fix-it ticket or something.
