PLEASE HELP

Hi everyone,

my car is currently pulling hard when I am turning left. It pulls in the same direction that I turn. I will be on the freeway and just a slight left bend the car will pull towards the center divider. This has been going on for a couple weeks. I crashed my car recently and I thought a new alignment would fix this issue but it did not. I rotated my tires and checked tire pressure and it is now even worse. The traction control light flickers when it starts pulling. When I correct the wheel it feels like it starts to push through the turn then yanks back to the left.

I am running RCE tarmac 0 coilovers and camber bolts. I have a appointment with West End Alignment next week but its my daily driver and I do not want to crash because of this. My car really feels like a death trap right now and I commute everyday. Any help will be appreciated

How bad of a crash? Was the frame checked for straightness? Do you have a printout from the alignment?

I'd stop driving it if I was you. Somethings wrong and taking it to the shop would be priority one.

It was not too bad I crashed in the canyon and the damage was only done to the driver rocker panel below the door. I had an appointment for corner balance and alignment the next day and still got the car aligned with the body damage. I had them check everything out and said everything was fine. I did not have the money for my deductable so I drove around for a month and it drove great, then one day it started to pull like that out of nowhere. I saved enough money for my deductable to fix the body damage then had them do alignment as well which I thought would fix the issue but it is getting worse. I do not have a printout of the last alignment done from the body shop but I think it has to be something else that is going on

Something is wrong. Do yourself and the public a favor and stop driving it until you can have it looked at.

Or at a bare minimum, do not drive over ~30 MPH.

Hate to break it to you, but it was BAD enough beyond what you saw.

Whatever you think the car had, it's much worse. At best it's just a suspension piece loose or alignment out of spec. At worst if you keep driving you will crash your car and take someone else out with you.

Do yourself a favor and stop driving the car.

The car drove perfectly fine after that crash and took it to one of the best

alignments shops in Socal after the crash. They did the corner balance and

alignment and told me everything looked fine. West End Alignment does

many race cars around here and I agree I cant be driving my car around like

this. That is why I am hoping someone has something better than "do

yourself a favor and stop driving" and actually have some kind of

understanding about suspension. Maybe someone knows what malfunctioning

suspension component might cause this.

Rear toe waaaayyyyy out of whack is what comes to mind, but then that wouldn't cause a pull, it would be more of a 'push' and the car would be all but undriveable over 10-15 MPH.

I think we're all most interested to hear what this turns out to be, so please let us know once you've got it squared away.

Good luck with it.

Dude, you're a nub. Is that good enough?

You come in here asking for advice, people give it you....and then you want better advice than to do the only logical thing to do.

Keep driving your car around until something happens, but by then it might be too late.

Leave whatever you're worrying about to the pro's, and just don't drive your fucking car until it's fixed.

Thanks brotha yea I will keep everyone updated. I am pretty much fighting the wheel when the car starts to pull and push in the corner causing me to have a white knuckle grip. Hope it is nothing too serious.

Oh wow I guess I am a nub. Obviously driving the car is not a option

guy. Maybe you should let someone with at least a little bit of

knowledge post on what they think could be the problem instead of being a

tough guy thinking you are some kind of "pro" on giving people advice.

Thanks for wasting my time and yours.

... let's see:

coilovers
camber bolts
FLCA
RLCA
rear toe

Could be a bunch of stuff, but my "some kind of understanding" about suspension tells me you don't know enough to 1) fix it on your own, and 2) you having made an alignment appointment next week should be sufficient to fix it.

The problem here is, what kind of info do you want us to tell you? Would you like us to pinpoint the problem area(s)? What will you do until the alignment appointment? What if the problem isn't alignment?

Your car may be your daily driver, but the mods were purchased by you and installed with your consent. My advice to you is based on many years experience in modding cars: if an owner doesn't know what is the cause (and it seems like a bad alignment or worse), best thing to do is to minimize driving or park the car outright.

If downtime for your DD is too much, perhaps you should dial back on some of the mods or have some type of backup plan for when these things fail.

Yea I can not fix it myself because I have never had to deal with anything like this. I jacked the car up today to see if I can notice anything out of the ordinary.

I hope you did not take what I wrote offensively, just frustrated with the problem and everyone telling me the obvious which I agreed driving is not a option. I know I can't drive my car right now which is a bummer and have no way to get to my classes now and work.

I purchased tarmac 0's just because I knew they were a simple coilover with little adjustment for daily driving and the occasional track day. This has made me really think I do need some kind of backup plan. Never thought I would have this many issues on a brand new car.

I was just looking for maybe someone who has run into similar problem with either this platform or another and had maybe some idea on what would cause my car to drive like this. Just to get me mentally prepared on what the damage could be to my wallet. Really thinking about swaping my coils for sportlines and maybe some rLCA and calling it a day. But I guess I will just have to wait till next week to really find out the issue.

Well..............since no one here can actually lay hands on the car and give you some help, the best advice is to not drive it and wreck it because you didn't get any pertinent information from the forums. My best GUESS from what you describe is that one of your front coil-overs has a broken shock shaft/tophat bolts. If this problem started AFTER the alignment, then it could be anything but it sounds like something is causing a major castor/camber change when you move the wheel. That's my best GUESS............
