There are so many factors to handling dynamics. F/R weight bias isn't even a big one, heck the 1st gen twin is what 54/46 to go along with our shitty front suspension design. You'd have to move a lot of weight before it makes that much of a difference, the K Power K swap takes 100-120lbs off the front half of the car, but it doesn't even change the weight distribution that much, I think it is around a percent or less.

I feel like in case of the 1 series it's a combination of wheelbase and track width that is a core problem. Looking at BM video, the heavier M3 rotates so much better, this is especially obvious in hairpins.

It's more a function of BMW kneecapping the 135i so it wouldn't handle better than the M3. Additionally, the 1M is known for notorious amounts of understeer.

Or alignment, or spring rate, or roll center, or camber curve, or bushings, or could use more tire.

IMO, you can only mask the core issue with all this to a certain extent.

Those are core issues, that is why I put "or" in front of each one. That is what I am saying, you can't just point to F/R balance and act like it is the issue when there are a multitude of factors that affect handling balance. Especially in the video that you are citing(Best Motoring ) where you are comparing a 135i to an E92 M3. You can get the car there in the aftermarket, stock for stock the 1 series looks bad. The 135i is also touted is actually having a 50/50 weight balance anyway so I don't get what you are trying to point out here.

All I'm trying to point out is that you won't eliminate it's understeery nature with aftermarket. You can improve things a bit, but won't eliminate issue completely. I'm not talking about F/R weight distribution. I was assuming one of the core issues is the combination of wheelbase and track width. I saw several track videos on yt with various modified 1 series and I am yet to see one that doesn't show understeer, that's all.

And yeah, Best Motoring, Hot Version and Video Option are the only trustworthy automotive shows.
