Options for removing spoiler

A dealership near me has a new BRZ that I am considering buying, but I hate that damn spoiler. I know some people trade trunks, but I don't particularly want to go down that road. All the new BRZ's have spoilers anyway.

Is / will it be possible to buy a replacement trunk without the spoiler at some point? Are there spoilers for the BRZ that you can get somewhere that don't look so fast and furious? Any other ideas?

Thanks

Loads of options.
Dozens of choices for spoilers that cover the holes. Check the body mods sub here for lists of them.
Look for a stock lid from a wrecked car. Colour may be off a bit though.
Yes you can buy a new replacement trunk lit. Would cost you big bucks though.
You could go ith an aftermarket CF lid but again money is involved.
You could just leave it in there and see if it still even bothers you after a week or two. Once you get used to it you will not even notice it there anymore.

You could ask the dealer to remove said spoiler of a fee.

I vote remove it and have the holes welded up and the lid repainted. Or a carbon fiber one.

Would any body man bother to weld that? They'd probably just plug the holes with filler and repaint it, which is a valid option.

Assuming you're buying a car that still has one of the 2016 and earlier colors, you could try looking for a trunk without the wing from a wreck of the same color on car-part.com. The majority of salvage yards list their parts on there (with the exception of the self-service junk yards, none of which ever get BRZs or FRSs). You might get lucky and find one that matches.

Yeah that works to but I rather have it welded for longevity but I am sure the body filler could work just fine

I've looked into this quite a bit (as I hate the stock BRZ spoiler), but lost my notes, so I'm reconstructing this from memory:

Option 1 - new premium trunk. around $450. I think you have to have it painted. + $350?
Option 2 - carbon fiber trunk. $600 - $900. If you want it painted, I was quoted $600, as part of a bundle with the Seibon CF trunk I was looking at. Seems a bit high, but maybe that's because painting CF is harder...?
Option 3 - fill holes + paint. I don't remember exactly, but think that the work + the paint put it in the $500 range. I do remember having a hard time finding anyone that would do it, but this was 3 years ago.
Option 4 - aftermarket spoiler that covers holes. there are limited number of spoilers that use or cover the holes. The TRD spoiler, the CARSMO rep of the TRD, and a few others. There are also some threads on here showing the exact measurements of the hole placement, if you want to find one yourself.
Option 5 - Trade. The stars must align.

I ended up buying an $80 spoiler (TRD style) off of ebay, and while the fitment on the trunk itself wasn't great, it does use the holes and is thus secure, and came in black so I didn't have to paint it, and allowed me to get rid of the stock spoiler. Maybe I'll upgrade at some point, but this was my quick fix.

I got it done, it was expensive. Definitely a better strategy to try and pay someone to trade trunks with you but I was getting some damage repaired and sideskirts painted so I went for it.

Not sure about dealers around you, but my local dealers offer custom body work if need be. They just sub contract local body shops. And they just add it to your car loan. Pricy but do able.

Common examples are body kits, custom paint, wheels, lift/lowering kits, pretty much anything bolt on preformance.
