Water/Methanol tune required
Dear all
My friend frs tuned by Steve for 95octan 98ron And running great He bought AEM 30-3350 V2 Water/Methanol Injection Kit, Multi Input Controller 0-5v Now is there anyone here can add one map for this kit ? Thnx |

any tuner can, similar to tuning with octane, but you should run failsafe for it and if you do no idea if OFT can do that, but ecutek can

ive been interested in using methanol on this car to combat knock, and also clean the intake valves. ive used it on other platforms and it works wonderfully.
However, I've always triggered it with positive boost pressure and throttle position. On a NA engine how do we trigger the system? Ideally I'd want something that plugged into some of the harness without cutting any wires. I've been thinking about maybe a microswitch, but I don't want it in the cabin and its fly by wire so not on the throttle body.

You can make it using Open Source Flex Fuel by ztan if you have computer and assembly language knowledge. By converting ethanol ratio input to WM level input, failsafe feature could be implemented.
I have been planned to do it, but finally figured out to use 102 RON fuel and adaptive ignition timing table. Convenient, easy, no additional failure point.

i too wouldn t mess with it with a oem NA engine... if you get 102 ron in Canada, or if you add in your tank something that works like Bardhal BSF octane booster you would get similar result and less trouble
The intake valve cleaning is already good enough with the port injection mixed in |

You can trigger it with an Adjustable Vacuum Pressure Switch. At say -3hg or less it’ll close and trigger wmi. Not really sure the cost, time, complexity is worth the benefits on NA. It’s magic for FI.
Boostane is a very effective octane booster barely need to add any to the tank even. |
