I'm not sure bees qualify still, but legislating is an ugly mess of confusing stuff so what do I know.

It's because the bee people didn't come up with enough campaign fund money to buy a rather simple change to a law, so they found some sympathetic judges instead.

As if a simple change is likely to happen? Once a revision is on the table all hell breaks loose.

Ya I have always been impressed with the US method of slipping non relevant things into legislative change bills.

"This bill will declare bees to be endangered, raise the age of gun purchases to 25, require cancer warning labels on 2% milk, eliminate street tunes for cars, make it mandatory to carry umbrellas in the left hand only, raise the maximum price for hamster food by 3% and limit the number of cows you are allowed to have in your living room to 12."

12 simply is not enough cow. And that leaves it ambiguous how many can be in the family room, basement, bedroom, bathroom, or kitchen. Gotta keep 'em out of the dining room though.

i do remember. but honestly, i don't expect the current ordering system to last. dealers have always been like toddlers in a candy bowl, i have a hard time believing they're willing to suddenly trade price for quantity.

They have always worked on quantity. They don’t make shit on individual cars. Losing the overhead of holding stock, maintaining a large lot and showroom, cutting sales force, receptionists, middle managers and other non value add personnel would be a pretty big incentive.
Amazon has proven the business plan works so it is just a matter of application to the auto sales industry.

In your opinion what does that say for the used car market? We all sell our cars to carmax/carvana and say goodbye to CPO? Not saying that would be a bad thing necessarily... CarMax has a pretty good warranty.

Headed that way as well. Even many of the big used car places are pushing order online and to your door delivery.
Before the used market went nuts both our local Subaru and Toyota dealers said they sent the majority of the trade ins they brought in straight to auction since it wasn’t worth their while to do repairs and detailing to sell them on the lot. Pretty much all the used cars they did sell were lease returns. Think you will find that most dealers only keep the very best used and send the rest out since they really just take trades to sell you new. That is why 9 out of 10 of these “we need your used car” ads and letters are full of crap.
Right now they will take anything just to have something to fill spaces on the lot.
You know I just now realized how much time a spend standing around dealerships and chatting! No wonder so many people think I work selling cars for Toyota.

Today I 'think' I learned the APA Guide 7th edition for referencing... so now I will correctly reference Tcoat et al (2022).. However as I can't use @ they will never ever find out that they have been referenced... I have a feeling 8th edition is on its way...

TIL (or better yet a couple days ago) I truly am getting old. A bunch of junior enlisted were at PT and they seriously looked like middle schoolers. I almost thought it was a Bring Your Child to Work thing.

Today I learned that 700 UK firms are testing 4 day week, their staff get paid for 5 days but only work 4.. Can't wait for it to be rolled out for all!
