Positive battery terminal damage

Hello,

So i had some start up issues that pointed to a dead battery but battery is at full capacity. Anyways, i seem to have snapped off this part of the positive battery terminal uhh thing.

Anyways to fix this without replacing the whole battery wire harness? Or know the small part that touches the white part? Trying to look online to see if i cant just get that part but im not sure what its called.

search for battery cable lug or ring terminal and you'll find something you can use. It may become a larger project or cost prohibitive if you don't have the tool or you have to cut that one off and don't have enough length.

Totaled, time to part out.

Your choices are to repair or replace. You can cut that one off to avoid shortening the harness. As above find any battery terminal end. If you do not have access to a swedger you can solder but that is not the preferred method for battery terminals.

Bubba says to lay a piece of metal under both pieces and weld it all together.

Then, be careful with it -

That's the route I would take. By the time you got the part and the tools you are probably at the same price point or close enough it doesn't matter.

If Grady were the OP I recommend that based on his avatar alone.

Knipex makes a nice double crimp tool but it isn't cheap.

We need more lead in our brass.

...okay so i realized i bought the wrong thing. The terminal that broke was actually on the side coming from the fuse box. ugh have to get those battery terminal things for the positive side. This is annoying.

I rather solder or weld it but i dont have a welder or anything like that.

Temporary solution until my terminals get here. Works!

Would take a big-ass soldering iron/gun to get enough heat into that cable but, honestly, it's what I would do. Heat shrink is a pro move.
