Just underscores how laughable the deluge of "Hamilton gracious in defeat" stories in the media a few days ago was. Like did nobody watch the entire rest of the season when he was constantly slamming his own team every time he made a mistake? The award ceremony was an easy chance to show himself as the better man: accept the award like an adult, congratulate Max but also make the point that the FIA needs to improve. But no, just another temper tantrum.

Max suffered greater injustices during the season, but was comparatively stoic about it. If Ham is really that fragile then yeah it's probably better that he quit.

Does nobody remember Ferrari throwing temper tantrums throughout the '00s and '10s? Threatening to leave the sport over technical regs and spending caps and penalties? Standard political posturing.

lmao, do you get like a different race feed then the rest of us? Like do they just cut away every time Max misses an apex by a mile and pushes someone off track?

Keep swingin, maybe your boy will win another one with your help.

Nah. Max had a relatively flat affect most of the time when asked about things that happened after the race. I’m the heat of the moment, he was as charged as anybody else was in competitive situations.

Maybe one day people will just take their L with Hamilton and move on. If we add up every questionable call the FIA made this year, and the two times Mercedes sent Max off track and into orbit, Max won the championship 3 events ago anyways.

That particular instance was a slap to LH however it probably balanced out over the whole season.
It’s a car race….

Max had an incredible season no doubt, had the pace to be on the podium every race, only shot himself in the foot three times, and he got his championship no ifs ands or buts imho.

I just think his racecraft is shit and can't remember a single clean pass he's made for position ever. But that's partially the fault of the F1 rules being dumb and promoting running your competitors off track.

Edit: if you still think Lewis was wrong for Silverstone for missing an Apex and running wide on the inside max should be your least favorite driver on the grid.

I remember Max really impressing me early on this year. A lot changed after Silverstone.

Nothing about Max changed, he's been in F1 for five years, from Silverstone onwards he wasn't just running parade laps and when having to battle he drives like he always has.

Well, we both know this will be followed up with the goalposts being moved, but since you're only asking for one I'd have to say my personal favorite is the time that Max sailed up the inside while ya boy was busy clumsily driving into Ocon.

Max has improved quite a bit since his first few seasons. He's not perfect, but Hamilton isn't either. He's got a bad habit of running Red Bulls off the track if they wind up in front of him in a corner. 4 times in the past 3 years at least. Albon in Brazil 2019, Albon in Austria 2020, Verstappen in Silverstone 2021, Verstappen in Monza 2021.

While I’m a Max fan, I’ll give Lewis a pass for the Monza incident this year. I think Max was equally at fault for that incident. Lewis squeezed him and expected him to yield, much like Max does to others, but he didn’t that time.

Both could’ve given the other a bit more space there but they were side by side and neither wanted to let the other get by.

It looked to me like Max passed him at T1, and T2 was Max's corner, but Lewis didn't leave enough space, forcing Max into the curbing. To me, it's another time when a gray area decision fell in Lewis's favor.

I found it interesting that Lewis tried to back out after Max shut off his engine and was getting out of the car.

While looking for the Ocon thing I did find Max passing both mercs clean in France this year, nice reminder why people were hyped at the beginning of the year and I'll quiet down about Max never being able to pass clean.

I can't find that Ocon thing @reni can you remember which race?

As for Monza, there's a reason Max got penalized, he launched in from nowhere, completely behind Lewis under braking, didn't even get his nose to Lewis cockpit until after the Apex. FIA have data, they penalized him because he was never going to make T2 at that speed.

The Albon crashes are totally Hamilton's fault, that's why he got penalized and went and apologized to Alex after both incidents. I don't like it when any driver runs another off track whether it's paved or gravel (which I guess is the only time people remember?), I really wish they'd go back to penalizing it harder then they have been the last 3-4 years.

Hard to say because they were still largely side by side. Max maybe had a nose ahead but I’d still consider that less than a completed pass.

I think Lewis could’ve given a little more space, and Max could’ve backed off a smidge to get a better exit out of T2 and slip stream/pass on the straight.

That’s why I mention Silverstone though, because Max was 95% of Lewis when the collision happened. Max left enough space for Lewis on the inside but Lewis pushed wide, missing the apex by a good few feet. He did get a penalty but it ultimately amounted to nothing, with Hamilton getting an easy win.

I think F1s penalty system as a whole needs to be revisited, as it seems like half the time, the penalties are just arbitrarily come up with on the spot. There seems to be little consistency.

He's talking about Saudi Arabia, second restart.

And Ham didn't really drive into Ocon. He left Max room on the inside and got squeezed. He is just so biased he can't see it any other way.
