It's high in calcium and has a decent amount of protein, plus my kids would always eat it as a green vegetable. It's a staple in my home. I wouldn't lose confidence in the vaccine over it that's for sure.

I've started cooking rapini, which is related but tastes very different. Great with Mediterranean cuisine.

Reminds me of a Chinese couple that were celebrating a landmark 15th wedding anniversary. The wife took the night off her job as a waitress in a Chinese restaurant, prepared for a romantic evening. She told her husband on this night she would do whatever he asked. The husband told her, after so many years together, he would like to try #69 with her. Confused, she replied, " Why you want beef and broccoli??"

I hate broccoli. Cauliflower too.

No idea why but both taste awful and induce my gag reflex (maybe their texture?).

Broccoli is OK, if you cover it in enough cheese.

Cauliflower is just nasty no matter what you do to it.

Lately I've been seeing chefs on the cooking shows make cauliflower steaks. Sounds disgusting.

There are many ways to cook broccoli. Try cutting some heads of broccoli or cauliflower and brush lightly with olive oil and then season to taste. Spritz a little lemon and place them on a cooking sheet and bake in the oven until crispy.

Broccoli puree rendered with vegetable broth or meat dripping can make a nice side or sauce depending on consistency.

Tempura broccoli will mask the flavor.

There are many ways of making broccoli tastier, or for that matter, ways of ruining it like boiling it until it is mush or having canned broccoli.

Ever had "pizza" with cauliflower "crust"?

It doesn't taste terrible, but eating that amount of cauliflower is dynamite on your digestion. Cannot recommend.

Yes. Almost all vegetables and fruits out of a can is typically horrible. Fired roasted peeled tomatoes for a salsa base is ok. Beans are kind of necessary unless someone wants to buy dried beans and rehydrate. There are exceptions, but I try to avoid canned food. High in sodium, and it leaches vitamins and minerals, besdies the fact that it destroys consistency/texture and taste.

Most people are sensitive to FODMAPs, and some are really sensitive like myself, so I avoid large servings of polyols like cauliflower. I haven’t had cauliflower pizza, but I have had eggplant lasagna and other substitutes that are surprisingly good.

Corn is unique in that it is the only food that reassembles itself in your colon.

Yeah usually when I try it it's completely fresh. Occasionally roasted or steamed. Steamed definitely doesn't mask the issue, even if it's not enough for it to go to mush.

Oh and the other one I can't have at all is kale. It's one of the food items that upsets my food hyper sensitivity thing. So that's a huge bummer since you can easily roast and season it to eat it as "chips".
