Engine idle chirping (cricket) noise poll.

Please only vote after you have driven your car for over 300 miles.

I've posted this on the FR-S section as well. Please only vote once in either section.

I'm at 830 miles but it has been chirping since the first 100 or so miles.

Patiently waiting for a TSB

Got ahead and vote. Sorry I wasn't clear, I just want to make sure people don't vote when they only have few miles on it. My didn't start to make noise until around 300 miles.

Mine has been chirping since around 500 miles or so. I'm at 1380ish now.

Curious, but what VINs are you guy's cars? Mine is 635.

I voted in the other thread, my VIN is 920 . I'm at 1300 miles and I had the chirping issue a few times when it was breaking in but haven't had it since.

For those of you who voted "no" have you driven it at least 300 miles and have you listen for it after you drive it for at least 5 miles down the road? On mine it doesn't make any noise until I drive it on the road and when I come to a stop it'll start chirping. Even after I park it somewhere for a bit, start it back up and it's quiet until I drive it again.

This is just from both the direct and port injectors running, right?

That's what we were thinking, but it's a new noise that sounds like a cricket that started to happen hundreds of miles after we picked up our cars. The ticking sound is normal, that's the DI. The chirping, apparently, isn't. I read it doesn't effect driveability, just makes an annoying sound.
