Rivian ships its first customer truck...

Rivian completed it's first production truck today on it's assembly line. Really not a fan of the design, but interesting to see it finally get these moving.

I just don't get why they intentionally made it look like a frog or a bug.

Looks fine for that kinda vehicle. WAAAAY better than the frankly ridiculous and stupid-looking Tesla truck. While I'm here, f Elon Musk...

Yea, I don't disagree with that at all, but I already see if I was in this market I would have cancelled my Rivian order and put my money down on a F150 Lightning.

The truck market is pretty saturated and dominated by V8s and turbo diesels with a similar, rugged and muscular exterior, so they probably wanted to find a niche demographic with a more tech or Scandinavian Design type of clientele for their EV truck. I think the R1T and R1S both look great—very modern, clean and simple. Swedish designs typically have simple, modern designs with old, rustic accents like textured wood inlays, and this seems to be Swedish inspired. Love the interior. I think the SUV looks better.

A doctor at my work has a few motorcycles. One is a Husqvarna Vitpilen that is a Swedish bike. Similar design language. He added brown, rustic leather accents too.

It has a modern Land Rover look and shape.

I would consider a short wheel base version someday. I like the design over the Teslas.

I actually like the interior. If you would've removed the Rivian logo and ask who probably made them, I would've thought Land Rover. Simple design, I like it.

I can live with the dash design, although still a little too stark for me. The rest of the interior is very nice for a "family truck" (vs a work truck) which is what this really is.

I just couldn't live with the outside design though. Honestly I don't think many of the current truck clientele would. Truck owners don't want Swedish design, they want intimidating. At least that's the way truck owners are here.

That bike looks great!

The only thing I don't like on the Rivians is basically the front end. The headlights don't fit with the rest of the design imo.

I for one am not shocked that a >$70k electric truck is not styled to appeal to bro-dozer owners in small town Georgia.
