Well yeah, but that's assuming the opening is just barely adequate. It could be overkill, and the small amount of opening being somewhat blocked is too small to matter.

I can't imagine it's blocking enough to make any difference with normal street driving. Maybe with some very hard driving, but even then... Guess I'll read up on the cooling capability of this thing more.

@Overland Designs ...Your up!

He needs some factory black alcantara suede stat! IIRC they sell by the meter. The roll is 36" wide so one meter can do 3 sets of dash panels or almost all your silver (if brz) trim pieces.

Finally got a pair of helix side markers to clean up the look of the front end, not a big fan of the orange side markers. Quick minute video I made for a youtube build journal I'm going to start doing for my car.

Got a letter from my Apartment manager this week.

Several neighbors complaining about my Top Speed catback in the morning (and I don't leave for work till 8am).

When I start it the car hovers at 1500RPM or whatever for 1 minute.. it sounds like a megaphone. Does it hurt to start and drive right away with low RPMs? I noticed if I start it and start backing out right away, the idle settles within about 3 seconds. Is there a purpose for the long high idle?

Should I fight it? My apartment doesn't have "quiet hours".. but 8AM seems late enough for noise right?

Just don't get on the gas hard until oil temp is up and it isn't a problem.

8am is definitely late enough for noise I would say.

Where I live there are 'reduced noise pollution' time frames usually till 9:30am. Nothing loud, mowing the lawn, sawing, running loud catback for 2s before then. So it might not be your apartment you have to be compliant with it is your localities (your manager is being nice before they report you to the locals).

But the high idle is just to get everything warmed up so you can beat on it sooner...since beating on a cold engine is bad things to do to a car 101.

I feel there should be a way to turn that off. I'd check your manual.
