I had mine replaced at 1000 miles and it came back recently. I'm at 6000 now and just took it back in yesterday. They're ordering a pump in and replacing it again for the second time now.

I just called Rodland Scion about this issue and he said that he replaced a fuel pump almost a year ago and it didn't work but a brand new fuel pump should be coming out at the end of September and he told me I should call back when he does. Seems legit and makes sense replacing a part with a brand new part instead of the same one over and over again. he said it won't lead to engine failure though just annoying af

That's actually good to hear. I think I might take mine in to have the fuel pump replaced in October if this is the case. Granted, that is if mine doesn't stop chirping (gonna try with non-ethanol first). Just started at around 500 miles. The first two tanks were in areas with no easy-to-get-to non-ethanol stations.

I have my crickets for the last 2k miles and seems like they like taking their days off randomly
They'll be there for a few days then dissappear for a day or 2 and sometimes they go vacation when I don't hear them for 3+ days
Haven't bring it the dealership yet since I'll have a 5k mile service in a week or 2 hopefully they'll hsve a permanent fix by then

Had a long trip yesterday, 600miles, e free gas all the way, no chirp at all. So, that, 800 miles without chirp since I began to put in e free gas.

My BRZ just passed the 3,000 miles mark, and crickets just began appearing intermittently, usually on a warmed-up engine. Did use a different gas station on the last fill-up, so I'll make sure to use the same gas station I used before crickets appeared to see if that changes anything.

Mine has chirped since 300 miles, but I know it doesn't cause any damage so i'm not worrying about it.

All the ones we've replaced here at the dealer end up making the noise again eventually...

I have been testing the 2T method that was talked about earlier in this thread. On Friday, I picked up some Lucas Oil semi-synthetic 2T with low ash from Pep Boys. I put in 1.7 oz (50 ml) on the first fill up. This is a 1:1000 ratio. I proceeded to drive to Charlotte from Atlanta. The temp for the day was 90°. I heard no chirps once I got off the highway and hit the stop/go traffic. On my drive back to Atlanta today, I put in 1.5 oz on the 2nd fill up. I still don't hear any chirps. However, the outside temp was in the mid 80's.

We have Shell VPower here in Oz which is 98RON, it's a quality fuel with NO ethanol, have always used it on the 86 & still I have the crickets. It appears to be getting noisier with age & by that I mean louder & more metallic in nature. A revised pump design/solution to this racket can't come soon enough :/ car has done 8700kms.

Having a large colony of crickets installed in my FR-S before my purchase from dealership (wasn't on the window sticker) I have never heard the natural sound of motor. Finally after months of trying every pump gas in the city I have got rid of the chirping. It was only after getting dyno tuned by FA20Club Toni for E85 fuel. First tank the decibel level reduced by 50%. Now after refueling the second time the corn has made the crickets too fat and lazy to chirp anymore. Going through the drive through today I finally know what the motor sounds like at idle. I kind of feel like this lol.

Update:

Just got off the phone with Toyota, No fix for it yet, nor any word on it. I have an feeling it'll be a long time.

Also for those of you that have the Idle issue as well, no fix on that as well.

my 10 has the crickets...

Got it almost 3 weeks ago, started somewhere between 300 and 400 miles on the odo.

At 1st it seemed it only did it when pushed near or just past 4k rpm...

Now that it has about 1016 miles on it, it does it every time once it has warmed up.
