Product To Reduce Dash Glare? - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Can someone suggest a liquid product that would reduce dash glare? I don't even know if such a product exists. I don't want to go to the trouble of having a custom dash mat made and polarising glasses are out of the question.

The JPM Alcantara gauge cluster hood will reduce that glare you get right in front of you. Looks good too!

Pretty involved solution but rally guys "flock" the dash. Process of glueing down lots of small fibers. Looks very similar to suede when done.

Easiest solution: Get polarized sunglasses.

With polarized sunglasses the dash looks matte, and they eliminate glare on the windshield. The only downside I can see is that you notice those little pockmarks on the windshield a lot easier since you aren't seeing the dashboard glare.

This stuff is amazing. It leaves a matte finish, so no glare or nasty residue.

dash glare? what kind of product are you using to clean the car. i haven't had any issues because the dash is ruberized, do its not very reflective to begin with.

tru.dat I use 303 once a month or so, no glare here.

DO NOT flock it.

flock is great for cars that are not DD. because it will get really dusty and hard to clean. its very grainy so its not as easy to maintain as suede or alcantara. however i'm 100% sure that if you go to a different cleaning product you will lose all teh glare. like i said above the dash is RUBBER, its not reflective to being with, so you must be using somehting to give it a shine.

I'm wondering if this could be sprayed on OEM dash panels to "dull-down" what I would characterize as a "Satin" finish on the OEM panels.

Has anyone replaced their OEM panels with aftermarket and would be willing to ship their OEM to me so I could test?

I don't even know if matting the dash will help, simply because the dash seems pretty matte to me. Back when shiny armor all was the thing, I never noticed any dash becoming more reflective after its application.

To me, it looks like the angle of the windshield interacts with the dash in such a way that a reflection is created. Similar to being able to see reflections in clear glass, when its obvious that the glass has no mirroring (ie retail shop glass).

And as a guy who is so anal about an unclouded frontal view that he manually retrieves his EZPass from the glovebox every time he needs it, I will attest that Polarized glasses work THAT well.
