Drove Grizzly Peak -> Pinehurst -> Redwood today. Saw a few other cars up enjoying closed Redwood including a ~92 Sentra SE-R and a E36 BMW.

Unfortunately I was not able to get new tires installed this week, so I will have to end the consecutive Sunday Mines Road drives at a total of 12. Could push for a lucky 13th but don't feel like doing it on half bald RE71Rs. Oh well, it was a good streak!

Of course other people can still drive Mines this upcoming Sunday, but I just won't be there!

Mines Road was amazing today, almost 0 traffic and got to set a fast pace! Me and my brother were not hungry yet on the way back down and so we skipped Junction (was it even open?) and made it back down the hill to the stop sign at the end in 51 minutes. Anyone else have similar times? Just curious to see what pace I was keeping. I know most people stop to eat so that kinda messes with your time. Can't wait for next week! I'll try to keep the weekly streak going until you get tires! So anyone willing to go next week, I'm ready for ya! (Just need a tire rotation) haha

51 mins seems ok...I think we've done it in like 40 mins. It's 24 miles from The Junction to Del Valle Rd/Mines Rd stop sign.

I'll try to go next week. Gonna try to soften my rear up

Glad to hear the road was clear and that you guys had a nice drive!

Generally I would discourage you from keeping close track of time from point A to B or trying to beat another person's time. This is not a time attack or touge speed run, the goal has always been to just enjoy the road at whatever pace feels comfortable. Just wanted to throw that out there.

My tires arrived on Friday so hopefully I can get them installed this week and come back out for next Sunday!

I was going at a comfortable pace :|
It's not often I get to stretch my legs by myself on nice roads, so I took advantage of it. I only took note of the time, because I was waiting for someone to show up at Ham and then noticed again at the stop sing ;____; sorry senpai

No reason to apologize, I just wanted to say that so that perhaps new drivers reading this thread or people who haven't yet driven Mines don't feel like there is some fast pace or certain speed that they have to maintain.

I have to concur. Mountain roads are no place to start setting PBs and/or comparing times. Pushing it always has consequences, those are greater when cliffs are involved.
