If New York is like Texas, a vanity plate belongs to the driver so maybe they decided to lock it in while still saving for their upgrade.

You know it isn't a real FR-S otherwise you would probably have ended up giving it an accidental door ding or just backed up into it!

Yup... I do this all the time. in fact i ordered my plate to my FR-S before i got the car. these "86" numbers go FAST!

FYI that plate has been out of production for i think 2 years now. So he probably was an early follower
